I'd be posting on the RP, but I'm working on an art project, and I'm really close to done. Super focused.

Hm. Character developement.
Koz has been fun to develop. I started out, I swear to you, with a name. That was it. I knew he was a bronze drake that had been captured by the Infinite in CoT and Azu saved him. Pretty much echoing the instance. And over time, I got to really work with him.
Azu...is Azu. It's hard to develop her, because I already did so much in WoW and through other RPs. I was just building on. Still, ghost Azu was definitely new and unique to work with, it definitely subtly changed her, personality wise, if you ask me. She went from totally sure of herself, to a "I can do this, I can do this, I can do-oh, crap, no I can't and now people are going to die." kind of attitude.
I think in the next RP I might end up shelving both, honestly. Azu and Koz are sort of fixed together in my mind, one without the other would be weird.
---
On fighting, I agree. We knew there was a lot of fighting supposed to happen, so we expected that. And yeah, the whole shift between peace and not peace was awkward. I know it was a bit difficult for me to do much because Azu is Azu, she really doesn't make too much trouble, and Koz just wants to be alone. The hardest part for me to shift through was Booty Bay in general. I jsut felt like we let it die there, because no one wanted to really have yet another fight scene.
Also, more people should've died (Hear me out!). I liked that in the PokeRP, because it made you feel really, really, really bad for the characters and you sympathized with the survivors better. It was like you had a bond with them, and you honestly felt something when they died. It made the RP...more life like. Because really, in reality, don't you think -at least- someone else would've died or been crippled horrible by now? I do know no one -likes- killing off their characters, so I was kind of different in killing Azu. I did like the mind control and soul sharding, though. It's always neat to me to see characters you fight beside suddenly on the other side, ready to kill you. And what happened to her still affects Azu. She has this underlying fear of everyone thinking her weak and useless, because she lives for her friends. *shrugs.*
---
Ah. Yeah, for the slowing down/ending, I didn't really want to use the word die. It's more reaching the final battle. We really can't do that much more with everyone, if you ask me. And rehash of capture/rescue/fight/rest/capture/rescue/fight/rest does get repetitive. But unfortunately, what else could we do in a conflict RP like this? Splitting up may have been a good idea, though there is the problem of the CoT and Durotar groups are pretty wrapped up, while the Outlands arc isn't finished yet at all.
And...I think that's it. I'm done. I'll be quiet. Shh.

Re: Tales of the Hunt Q&A and OCC
Aye, it'll be both fun and sad when the RP ends. For the fun bit, I won't be around these forums anymore, which is happy both for everyone and for me. I am seriously sick of most of the forums, the RP section is more or less the only thing I bother with any more, because it's awesome. For the sad bits, well, I won't get to hang around you guys any more, which I don't exactly like.
Frankly Azu, if you want characters to die, Decay is right in the camp, waiting for that bit.

Re: Tales of the Hunt Q&A and OCC
Entirely up to you. I was just noting one difference between the RPs that I found interesting and preferred, but then again this is also two different RPs. If you don't want to do it, don't. *shrug.* We've already tossed around ideas to save her, so it's doable.
Re: Tales of the Hunt Q&A and OCC
Sats right. I will miss the rp section but I have only one complaint here, im just pointing something not trying to be harsh mkay?
I pretty sure I heard you guys promising once the WoW rp died we could try for another pokerp..sorry to ruin your 'the wow rp must continue stuff!' because, Im officially banned from wow rping from what I did and i have no idea how you people will ract if would want to rejoin a new one.
Now before you go disagreeing with me im not the only one, dont forget senna. Shes been waiting a LONG time for the new poke rp to happen you guys cant just take it away from us
now im done, I just wanted to point that out

Re: Tales of the Hunt Q&A and OCC
IIRC Senna herself posted that she didn't want another pokeRP yet.
And who the hell has banned you from WoW RP? No one, that's who. Hell, you're RPing with us right now without anyone complaining. So please Ruby, do try and not assume that we don't like you, because NOBODY HAS SAID THAT, alright? If the interest for a pokeRP was big enough to warrant starting one, then there'd be one starting. And please, nobody bring up that crap about WoW RP killing the poke one, because it's just not true.

she has said to me on deviantart a few times actually
I know after all that drama I decided to rejoin the WoW rp, there was a few people who were like 'ahhh no thanks I dont want you joining the rp again because of all the insults you made towards it' I realize they stated if I promised to stop they would let me rejoin. But honestly I have no idea what my emotion problems will lead to

Sorry about the Outlands group guys. We've been moving slowly because we need Magna and Moon at the same time I think. XD If push comes to shove, and Moon is ok with it, we'll quicken the pace tonight. I thought the other groups would take longer D: Sorry bout that.

Re: Tales of the Hunt Q&A and OCC
Yeah, sorry about my lame sleeping schedule these days. I'll be up and about earlier for the next few days to get the Outlands stuff done. I don't expect it'll take more than a few days at most.
Besides, there is this big combat coming up, always a chance for a few heroic sacrifices there.
Now, how is coercing us into a roleplay in which we may or may not want to participate in going to help your cause in any way? All that is going to cause is people to feel a little bit bitter and feeling guilt tripped into something they may not want to do. Also, what about the people here who aren't interested in a Pokemon RP, do they have less of a right to have fun than you and Senna do?
A pokemon roleplay needs to happen because everyone wants it to happen, because there is genuine interest and excitement for it. Not because a few people force others into making it happen. Trust me, it'll just die again that way.
I both agree and disagree with that viewpoint Azu. Yes, I suppose more deaths would have been more realistic and created some interesting conflict. But, as you already know, I stand on the viewpoint that character deaths should mean something. There should be some overarching consequence or result from their death, otherwise it's just, well, pointless. Yes, it's more realistic that way, but not nearly as mentally fulfilling. Then there's the whole problem of killing off a character essentially ends whatever development they could have had, or what morals you could have impacted with them to the readers/players.Azunara wrote: Also, more people should've died (Hear me out!). Great, now I feel I have to play bad guy here. As always, this is logical critique, not an attack on your person Ruby, you know I love ya.rubybeam wrote: I pretty sure I heard you guys promising once the WoW rp died we could try for another pokerp..sorry to ruin your 'the wow rp must continue stuff!' because, Im officially banned from wow rping from what I did and i have no idea how you people will ract if would want to rejoin a new one.

What I said, myself, was if you would please make up your mind, because leaving, saying the WoW RP deserves to die, and then asking to come back was starting to irk me. Fine. Yell at me there. I could've worded that better. But it's true, and it did annoy me.
Also, sure! Discuss plans for a new PokeRP. You tried, and then you never followed it up. Kind of hard to think and start something if no one puts forth effort.
And I agree with Moon. When people get interested, they'll join. I mean, I have a PokeRP character that's new I wouldn't mind using at some point, so I would join.

Re: Tales of the Hunt Q&A and OCC
On PokeRP:
Not joining again, simple as that. Lost interest in that world, it doesn't really draw me in at all. RotS did, but even by the end of that I was losing interest. By the time the next two started, I just didn't care about the world enough to care about my characters.
On drama:
-.- I've stated my mind on this before, because it's popped up at least twice now, maybe three times.
On character deaths:
This has actually irked me for a long time. The Cult can do nothing but fail over and over again. It ambushes and magically all of the adventurers are fine, even if they get wounded. It seriously lowers the threat of the Cult. The Weeping Blade group is much more frightening! The Cult just... um, loses. Again and again and again. At least the Dusk was viewed as a serious threat, they did real damage.
But that can't easily be fixed. It's not a many-character RP like the PokeRPs - a character death is a much bigger deal. If a character dies it's a huge blow to the group, and sometimes it might be the only character someone has. I really don't want Decay to die for Saturo's sake, she's one of her only characters. While the Cult realisticly would have already killed her, I don't want to take Satu's character away.
So... I wouldn't mind more deaths, but it's very hard to do. Honestly, I'm *awful* at killing my characters, but at least most of them are designed for the last battle.
Oh, and please don't feel like I forcing deaths. I do not want characters dropping off because you feel guilted into it. As much as I have more fun with a dangerous Cult, I'm one person, and I don't want the RP to suddenly not be fun anymore because everyone feels like their character is going to die in the next fight. RPs are for fun, which admittedly can sort of make it more and less fun for the people in it.

Re: Tales of the Hunt Q&A and OCC
@ Lupis:
Actually, I have to disagree with why the Cult isn't as threatening as it should be. Well, mostly disagree with you, I do feel that the group could have lost more often than it did, but it's not the main reason. Although the cult looses pretty often, I think they've only had one character death; Sabra. Two if you include Azu, which pretty much makes up all the character deaths in this RP if I recall correctly.
No, I feel the problem is that, well, all they seem to have been doing is pyramiding their fingers evilly and teleporting from one place to another to pick up more cultists, hoping they don't get attacked in-between. All the evil things they are said to have done happens off-screen, which while fine for a small-part like the Weeping Blade ((who will be killed at the end of the Outlands section, I assure you)), doesn't really help our main antagonists much. Seeing them go out and attack some random people to bring in energy for the infusions would have worked wonders. As would have sending some assassins to deal with this miserable group pestering them. Hell, some sort of plan to deal with the protagonists even. Each time they got attacked, all the Cult did was metaphorically throw their hats down and stomp on them, yelling "We'll get you next time, you meddling kids!" before going back to exactly what they were doing before.
Also, there was no real connection between the cult players other than "Grrr, I'm an angry cultist and I hate everyone around me!". Other than fights, it kinda just became boring to play my cultists. I was never too sure as to what they should be doing with them.
To be fair, you've done an amazing job Lupis. It's hard to manage an entire group filled with people who have their own ideas as to what should be happening, especially with real life interrupting on occasion. Hell, if anything, more of us should have pitched in, seeing if we could help ease the load in some way, or spoken about these issues in this OOC thread.
Purpose here is to recognise the problem and fix it for more awesome stuff in the future.
And yes. Drama sucks. Can we drop it now, or at least find a different argument? Let's continue to keep this the most sane place on the forum, hmm?

Correct that to ONLY sane place, Moonie.
And hey, Cori isn't an angry cultist! She's sweet!
As I said before, Decay is available for killing, as I'll be gone when the RP is over anyway.

Re: Tales of the Hunt Q&A and OCC
You just brought up what I was thinking myself. xD All the time I think that I should have the Cult attack something, but then I leave it off for other things. Typically I forget, or there are other things going on, etc.
Heck, I've been trying to get to the point when they actually start their attacks on towns. Attacks and such stall me - though I continue to forget the other camps, which would be able to pull off attacks without issue. The idea was to bring the Cult to Thunder Bluff, infuse them there, then start doing the actual town attacking. Get Bat and the others all strong before that stuff. An attack on Bloodhoof (essentially razing it, it's so small) has been in the planning for a while, I just never moved the Cult along. Afer that they were going to start being more serious.
But what to do with them while they're idle? No idea. >.< Honestly, a lot of their idle time is giving the adventurers time to do stuff.
As for sending people against the adventurers... The only thing stopping me is that I know it'll fail every time, and that sort of kills the inspiration. I can just see the assassin being instantly rooted out and killed.
I forgot to mention that the Weeping Blade was bound to failure, so I suppose that makes them quite a bit less threatening. Even planning things out, there's not much they can do.
But yeah. Aid would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Tales of the Hunt Q&A and OCC
I think if we had sped up these elemental infusions and gotten that over and done with much quicker, we would have been fine. Like, just say that all the elemental leaders were infused all at once, then met up in Thunder's Bluff, keeping a token force at each encampment for emergency re-infusions. As for assassins? Yeah, more than likely, but I still think it would have been better than nothing. Would have served as a nice little distraction for the protagonists while the big bads of the Cult went and did their thing.
But as they say, hindsight has 20-20 vision.
I'll be happy to help more in the next RP. XD
Sat, I'm thinking a grand duel to the death for Lesari and Decay, if you're still interested in having her killed off. ((Will miss you, by the way, Q-Q ))
