New pet types in cat

Oh yeah those, they're in Ungoro too. I honestly never thought of the dinos as pets, but then again it's really not a far stretch considering we tame raptors and devilsaurs.

Totally off topic, but my 2-year-old watched me head into Ungoro to do the raptor tooth daily and saw all the raptors around the path. After staring for a few, he decided they had to be dogs and started barking at them. xD We've yet to introduce him to dinosaurs, clearly we've failed as parents!!!

Echoing a lot of what others have said would be the kodo, Zhevra, thunder lizards, giraffes and stags. I think a pet Elekk or mammoth would be cool to. Ooooo and maybe even those giant slugs to. Forgot what they're called.
More snakes are always good. I wish the Plaguehounds were tamable.

Edit: I second the Diemetradon and other dinos in the the crater being pets. That would be sick!

What about the dino's as actual land and/or flying mounts? Considering they are back in Azeroth with Cata, they could aswell introduce some world related mounts; Pterrodax as a flying mount, and a Diemetradon (Saying that, it would be kind of hard to sit on top of em, but well ;D)

Rhinos can be pets, there's no reason why kodo, thunderlizards, etc can't be tamed. Those flying spiders in Northrend are pretty cool, too.

I know i've said this before, but I want a new dragon-like pet, sort of like a warp stalker but with longer legs, doesnt waddle it runs sort of like a cat, and with a less fat head more like the normal ingame dragon head but more menacing.
Kind of like this, minus the wings: A couple of ideas(not drawn by me! If I could draw that well I would of made exactly what was on my mind)

dude Ravagers are just as ugly Razzy some people like the look of them some don't does not mean basilisks would not make someones day.

Razzy, I agree. The Azeroth model is awful, I could stand the outland model tough. Plus, the only spell that would fit is a petrify of some sort, and that would probably be too OP in PvP.

i don't think the flying spiders in northrend will be viable,

for starters, they're undead, but more importantly, before they died they were sentient like the rest of the nerubians...

Actually not. They were sort-of domesticated. Never sentient. And not all nerubians are dead. If some are still alive, they'd be marked as beasts.

I would really like to see any and all of the pets mentioned on this thread implemented. I've wanted to tame a basilisk since forever! Lately though, I have been thinking that they should put something like african wild/painted dogs in cat. I can see new beasties emerging with the changes, or maybe some of the old ones changing into new forms. Well, as long as we don't lose all the old skins.

I don't think it'd be too OP if it was a very short duration. For example, Ravage only lasts two seconds and is on a 40-second cooldown. Bats have the same thing, but theirs is usable from a distance and has a cooldown of a minute. So if they made the petrify only last two or three seconds like the other beast family stuns, it shouldn't be any better or worse. And for the record I think the old-world basilisks are neat!

I have no idea what new pets will be coming out in Cataclysm. They better be new and shiny though! I do not know of any current pets that can compete with Devilsaurs and Spirit Beasts.
