The Undead being renamed ?
I noticed this on the Mist of Pandaria site.
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?

Re: The Undead being renamed ?
Undead and Forsaken have always been interchangeable. They're referred to as both quite often.

Yeah, what Veph said. It's not a rename.

Re: The Undead being renamed ?
Is there any reason why worgen/goblins aren't on that list, though?

Apparently we worgens and goblins are not cool enough to be monks
Re: The Undead being renamed ?
Probably just doesn't fit with the lore of the races. Goblins being greedy immoral little things and warewolves being evil shapshifting monsters? It's hard to reconcile those races with a monk who's learned her skills from the peaceful teddy bears...I mean Pandaren. I'll take Goblins and Worgens over teddy bears anyday though!Shade wrote:Azunara wrote:Is there any reason why worgen/goblins aren't on that list, though?

I can't see trolls or forsaken monks either, though. I can see pandaren, humans, draenei, night elves, orcs, tauren, and blood elves as monks, but none of the other races.Sesamee wrote:Probably just doesn't fit with the lore of the races. I can see Worgen being monks quite honestly, but Gnomes, Blood Elves, and Trolls? No I can't see those being Monks at all.

Re: The Undead being renamed ?
Worgen and Goblins have wholly separate startzones from other races whose events all took place long before the Pandaren were revealed. Who would train them? This also explains why there are no Pandaren DKs.
Re: The Undead being renamed ?
They are probably going to use the same reasoning that allows the undead and trolls to be priests.Azunara wrote:

Re: The Undead being renamed ?
Undead use the Shadow faith to heal and Trolls gain their ability from their Loas. I'm not sure how that lends itself to Monks...it seems like Monks do use "dark chi" to some extent but I'm not sure how Loas work with Chi.Sesamee wrote:They are probably going to use the same reasoning that allows the undead and trolls to be priests.Azunara wrote:

Re: The Undead being renamed ?
Undead monks will probably use their dark chi to tap into the shadow power they use to heal or fight or whatever. IDK, it doesnt seem that much of a stretch to me.

Re: The Undead being renamed ?
I can easily see most of the races currently listed as being able to be monks. The only one that raises my eyebrow would be Gnomes. I just have a hard time seeing a race of tiny obsessed technophiles having the desire to take up that kind of discipline, but honestly, I don't care all that much.
By the way, did anyone notice that "Death Knight" was absent as a choice for Pandarens? I thought that was interesting in and of itself. I guess we won't have to worry about a Panda with glowing blue eyes staring darkly at everyone.

Re: The Undead being renamed ?
Arthas never knew of the Pandarens so there would be know way for him to raise a Pandaren DK. Just a little quick lore lesson. This.
Not so much for lore reasons, but for the ammount of extra work it would require to add in monk-specific stuff in the starter zones.
Re: The Undead being renamed ?
Forsaken refers to the faction of undead that Sylvanas rules over, Undead would just refer to anything like..banshee, ghoul, zombie, death knight, abomination, wraith, etc. Any reanimated corpse/spirit. So Forsaken has always been a legitimate term ^^
Re: The Undead being renamed ?
Forsaken monk = human monk who died.
