New Models - Chromatic Dragon and Chromatic Dragon Mount

He just said it was a Chromatic Dragon and the other the mount version..

Just saw that...holy crap what a dragon...very flashy. Armor is cool, not sure if like the uber glowy tho.

I was wondering what that dragon would look like. We saw the skeleton/bare model during the Art Panel a couple times.

Very pretty But like the pet I still can't help but wonder why they call it "chromatic". But maybe it's by the creator of the "tawny" owls (which are grey), and "stoic" mammoths (which run around in a panic).

Funny, I was JUST studying the video of this dragon/s base model on the art panel video and comparing it with the chromatic dragon pet model, and I just KNEW this would be a new dragon! They were similar but not the same. Then I go to mmo-champ and I see this beauty! I really need this mount... o.o I also need to see the animations!

Yeah, I'm hoping 4.3, and I totally agree that it has a eastern tang to it, I would not be surprised if the skeleton will be used for other (even more eastern styled) dragons for 5.0. I remember seeing this model during the art panel during the video, one of the 3D designers were working on this model on his screen. I did not want to get too excited when I saw it, but looks like we might even see it in game earlier then I thought.

As for chromatic, I have to agree with you on that on too Wain. If they where going for Chrome, well that's shiny and silver, not gold... And generally with wow, chromatic dragons have been pink/purple in coloration, so not sure what wacky tobacy they were on when it came to picking it's name. But hey, I don't care what it's called, I'm still uber excited with the model and design.

Another thing I like about the mount, the webbing goes all the way to its body! Finally! Not that I'll probably ever had one, still can't even get an ICC drake.

I mean, not easy easy I guess, but something I--as a non-raider and non-PvPer--will have access to. >_< God its so pretty and badass. Oh... and if it is a raid thing (which seems rather likely now... ugh) please make it so we can get it after its no longer current content. T-T

Achievement called Chromatic Champion found... a Dragon Soul achieve. Uses the chromatic dragon icon. T-T http://ptr.wowhead.com/achievement=6180 Doesn't show a reward, but it still scared me. >_<

I hope its a store mount or anniversary thing. Most casual raiders never get the cool mounts until years later if at all (I still dont have the one from ICC and I raid often).

Seems like this isn't going to be a drop. There's nowhere it /could/ drop in 4.3 so that makes me happy. ((I'm sick of drop mounts. They're annoying and most people will NEVER get them.))

I do like the idea of the store mount. Maybe a limited time anniversary thing that comes with the pet for $30? Everybody gets a chance and afterwards it'd be something rare and shiny.

Agreed. I'm so sick of drop and achievement mounts. Most of the interesting mounts have been that or TCG.
