wanted to point out that Frostwolves on top level AV are currently of level 80! which adds another lovely ready-to-use pet for hunters!
(this is not listed in Petopia database so this wolf doesn't appear if you search for level 80 pets)

:D Excellent, a gorgeous alternative from the starving Northrend worgs. Anyone have a guess as to when this change took place?

Don't know - just joined an AV to tame one and to my surprise the wolf was 80;)
sometimes you just run by without noticing the changes in familiar things, eh?;)
