Is it pointless rolling a second hunter?

Unread post by Sammax »

I was just wondering how many people have more than one hunter leveled to 85?

The reason i ask is that i have an 85 worgen, and have tried most classes and dont enjoy any of them like i do hunter.

So im considering rolling a horde hunter, simply because i know ill enjoy all the leveling, looking for rares and pvp.

I just cant work out if in a few months time ill look back and completly regret it, and wonder why on earth i bothered leveling another hunter when i already have an 85.

What are other people experience with this?

Thanks

Why not just do what you enjoy doing? If you like leveling, do it :) Doing a horde should be very different than alliance.

I have quite a few hunters on both sides.. I never really got into playing anything other than hunters.. Not knocking the other types, they just never clicked with me..

I have two 85s, a 78, a 60-something, a 40-something, and about four more all under the 30 range. >_<

Tis an illness, but I can't seem to fall in love with any other class. I have ad druid and a shammy both in their 60's, a warlock in her 30's, a shadow priest at 45, and just rolled a mage as I like ranged far better then the melee classes.

If you enjoy leveling another hunter, it's just as valid an option as anything else. Switching sides, too, lets you see a whole different set of environments.

I had one hunter of each faction at max level in Wrath. I only got my main to max so far this expansion, but maybe that's because I've been playing with too many Other hunter alts! :)

It's not pointless to roll another hunter, especially if its the opposite faction. Horde is different from alliance, plus the added bonus of going after critters that are heavy alliance only, and very few horde will have them, (Take Bjorn for example: How many Horde will go for the only white lvl 8 bear in the game? Alliance side hes very common).

It's far from pointless to roll 2 of any class -

With a hunter you'll be able to have more pets for instance!
I'm not 100% sure how the different specs for hunters work just yet but it's always good to play a 2nd of a class just to play that one spec you don't get the chance to on your main.

I've got 3 85 hunters, two are Raid-Ready. The other I'm working on. Then I got a level 68 hunter too. x3

I've got thirteen hunters, five of which are 85, two at 74 and the rest are between 20 and 60, so you probably know my answer to your question. :)

I love other classes too, but hunters feed my altoholism best as I can customise them most of all, thanks to the variety of pets on offer! And, as the others have been saying, if you roll your second hunter on the opposite faction, even quests will feel somewhat different.

Have fun!

It's not pointless, especially (as others have pointed out) if you do one of the other faction. I think it's very worthwhile leveling one character of each faction because each side sees a completely different perspective on things. If you come out of leveling an Alliance character to 85, you probably have a very bad opinion of the Horde, albeit a realization that the Alliance have done some horrible things too. Try a Horde character, and you'll see that the Horde are no better and no worse, in the main, and it's interesting to see how different events appear from either side.

You should really go for a different spec than your main, too. Should help stave off the boredom.

I love levelling hunters. I have 4 hunter on 85, three on the same server. I needed the stable places to collect all the pets I wanted/liked. Each one of my hunters is unique and I love them all. One of my hunters is mostly my pvp toon, the other one for dungeons, the third and fourth are just for fun. I have several other low level hunters on different servers. If you enjoy playing a hunter: do it. It's your gametime and your money. You can do whatever you wish. I agree with the others, try a different faction/spec or other pets you never would have tamed on your main. It is fun.

It all depends on you - personally I have perhaps a dozen or so hunters, of whom 5 are now 85.

Well right now i'm considering reactivating my account, I want to chain run WSG on a lowbie hunter for fun! But I have an 85 hunter and one level 40... So i'm considering deleting that 40 and making one exactly the same??

I think I just might...

I have 2 DKs, and i've had doubles or triples of most classes (3 max DKs, 3 max Druids, 2 max hunters, shamans, loques, and 1 rogue in WOTLK. It makes more sense if they're on separate servers.)

There is no reason to delete a toon unless you've maxed out your character ceiling... if you want to roll a new one by all means go ahead but I'd keep the existing lvl 40 - if you like you can change his name, gender, race - even move him to another server all with paid services. But that way you're not throwing away 40 levels of hard work.

Just a suggestion...
