Odd question about names :D

I recently reread the brothers lionheart and really fel in love with the name

Nangijala

Nangijala is a magic land in the book - a land you arrive at when u die. Nangijala is a land where ppl still gathers around campfires and tells stories. Time passes differently in Nangijala, and 90 years only feels like a day or two - The brothers lionheart goes there and together with a resistance group they lead the struggle against the evil Tengil, who rules with the aid of the fearsome fire-breathing dragon Katla.

So ive been pondering about what charecter would go with that name.

I often wondered to change Tårnfalks name, well cause its hard to roleplay with a Danish name - but then again i really really like the name and if we ever are allowed to choose our own surnames for our char i even have a Danish surname to go with her. But Tårnfalk wasn´t origially named Tårnfalk - her origial name is Tivoli .. and it still bothers me a bit that i cannot have that name back... and i know i can do `´ etc above the letters but to me its not the same name..


Anadrá - alrdy has the asterix above the a. Origianly Anadra but here the asterix doenst borher me as much as it would with Tårnfalks original name. Cause Anadrá is an elven name and to my knowlede names in Elven lore often have asterixs in them.


My other char.. well i dont play them alot.. not enough to want to give them a name with such importance to me.

so still pondering.. what charecter would fit the name? - prolly need to make a new one.


So down to basic - the simple question ( which i pribally could have asked without all the noncenc background )

what class and race do YOU think goes with the name... Knowledge of what Nangijala and the brothers lionheart is not nessesary but appriciated -

and what transmorg gear should she be wearing (have to be a girl... i dont play male char ) but you´r welcome to suggest a male if its in your head makes more sence

Would really love to see pictures of your class/race + transmorg suggestions that u guyes can come up with

I haven't read the book, but based on your post, I would say Draenei or Troll shaman.

Not draenei as Draenei use double vowels (example: Michiruu or Chiilaya)

Troll I can definitely see or an orc.

The name "Nangijala" sounds like it would work best for a troll or a Tauren to me. I could see an orc as well, especially a younger one raised with trolls around.

Asa Finn and therefore an avid Astrid Lindgren fan I applaud your good taste and remind myself I've been meaning to reread Mio, My Son but haven't gotten to it.

However, I can't really help you. I revere these books so much that I could not make a character with any of the names from any of the books, even if Mio, Joonatan, Ronja, Matias etc. are absolutely fantastic names, and popular on real-life children (well, Ronja and Matias are. Joonatan is pretty rare and I don't think I've ever heard of a Mio....hmm.) Maybe, MAYBE as a pet name but I highly doubt I will. So here is my absolutely useless post.

(Also, I've spelt all the names as they are in the Finnish versions. Swedish[/Danish/Norwegian/Icelandic] version(s) is probably Jonatan, right? So Jonathan in English. And "Ronia" is the English version. Matias is Mattis in Swedish I think, no idea about English.)

I'd assume the English of Matias/Mattis would probably be Mathias? I'm not 100% sure, as I know neither language, but Mathias is a relatively common name, and the only English name I can think of that matches.

Great, all those compulsory Swedish classes did at least something right... Well, I wouldn't have known Mattis except I love the Ronja Rövarsdottir movie so, so much. Also, yes Mathias of course. Silly me.
