PvP was sick! And that's coming from a non PvPer really. Fluid system. Just ................. wow. I cannot wait to play more. Such a bummer it's going to be so long before the next beta weekend.

However, Zed, how do you think they've dumbed it down? I haven't seen anything too different from what I was expecting having watched as many beta vids as I have, but I may have missed something. I do that a lot xP

Forgot to reply to this. In videos I've seen from TotalBiscut & Yogscast you had to actually aim at your opponent. It was easy to miss if you didn't and the error would be costly. It seems this was nerfed a bit. These videos were from the press beta only and they were only allowed to post the videos after the press beta had ended.


But man. Love this game all the way around. Such a joy to play. And I completely forgot what server I was on. *snerk*

I didnt get to pvp sadly. I really want to on my Sylvari necromancer when I finally get to make her. I REALLY hope they'e in next beta, I'm so sad there's no more beta for a while. I also need to think up a good Asura name.. So far my names are...

Gendra Flametongue the Charr Elementalist
Takali Ashpaw the Charr Thief
(One spot class/name not known for my bf to demo the game too)
And then my little Asura Guardian who's name isnt known.

Anyone know how Asura name themselves? Oh and what're your names!? Just curious. I love GW names.

Vekk, Oola, Sokka, Jezza, Oggy

Those are all Asuran NPCs in GW1.

Vekk is also one of the npcs you get as a hero. Oola has a dungeon/big part in the story. o: They're very haughty and "im smarter than you" in attitude.

I thought Spinelli sounded cute. I want her to have a last name though that I'll have to make up. Idk why the other names are cute but.. I dont think Spinelli is a very normal asura

Bahah no big deal, but yeah, they've made it so if you let go of your mouse buttons it'll auto-aim at whatever you're targeting which I think was done to make up for the fact that you couldn't zoom out very far and it could be confusing for melee. I'm not sure if that existed for the early press beta videos or not, though.

Oh and what're your names!? Just curious. I love GW names.

My old GW names were Verdatum Lematri, Yoshiro Azume, Allaria Istok, Camille Anari, and the less legitimate names, Shrugs Not Hugs, Fine Di Eta (End of Ages, don't judge me), Glitz N Glam, and Ovis Echniopsis.

Not sure on any new names, but I do know I'll have Fievre for a charr and Venixus for a human for sure. Venix will probably turn into my main over Fievre because, as much as I like charr I just don't want to main one, and since I'll probably be maining an ele or necro both of which I want to be human (though I could settle for a norn necro), well, yeah. Oh right, I had a norn necro named Malox in the beta, too.

<3 GW2 now, was quite a fun beta.
There were plenty of glitches and bugs as expected, and there were a bunch of funny ones though.
Like on one of the human personal story cutscenes. The female's voice bugged and was a mans voice.
And apparently someone fell through Divinity's Reach, just to let you guys know. There's water under it lol.
My mains either going to be a Charr or norn ranger, I can't even decide! XD

I can't wait to see how the cutscenes look once all the audio is sorted out. There are still some lines where it's Microsoft Sam/Anna, which is just silly. But beta is beta, and I don't think most of the bugs people ran into weren't unknown to ANet already.

Just an update, GW2 is having a stress test on Monday. You'll get a chance to play around for a bit on your old characters, but just keep in mind that you'll likely lag and DC too.

I'm kid of expecting them to have everyone go to one place to really stress the servers, but I'm not expecting too much lag or downtime other than situations like that. Granted, I could be wrong lol, but it's just a prediction.

I'm fairly interested in poking around the sylvari as it is a brand new race to me. Asura were more of a helper npc race in GW1 so being able to be one in GW2 is a new experience as well. (Well same with Charr/Norn too but I felt like I got to know those better...could just be me though)

I read an article on GW2.com about reserving character names. It seems i'd need to log into my active GW account and put the names I want in the future on that account? If I read I right, if not I'm very confused..

Yes, pretty much you have to make toons on GW1 to reserve names. But that's only if you want a 2 part name...GW1 doesnt allow singular names.

Your best bet for one-word names (GW1 names can be however many words, even just like L E T T E R and then that'd be reserved) it'd probably be wise to speed through character creation and use the name you want, and just use that character as a filler until one of those awkward hours, so there might hopefully not be 400 people trying to make characters.
