Talbuks, yaks, shoveltusks might fit in there logically. Not so sure about stags and giraffes.
Re: New Pet abilites found on wowhead
Rams would fit perfectly into the "goat" family as well.. make it happen!

I wanted to bring the news about the Basilisks, but I knew someone will be faster.

Oh, right! Almost forgot rams.
Andine, there's no indication that hydras won't join this group, however they already have a family and pet skill so they wouldn't 'appear' because...they already have!

Just for a little bit of "extra", here's the hunter post from MMO-C:
Needless to say, my jaw literally dropped open when I saw all of the new pet abilities listed there and I did a little happy dance in my chair.

Re: New Pet abilites found on wowhead
i dont think any of this is implemented yet. and the families might be put in before anything even gets marked into the family it will be in. Hydras are more likely to become tameable sooner than the others because the framework for them has been in since 4.1 and all thats needed is for the switch to be flipped on. im not worried about hydras but i do want them to hit the switch soon

I do hope so! I mean, if we're getting the Basilisks, there's no telling. (Now to tame that guy at DMF with "untameable" nickname...)Ziarre wrote:Oh, right! Almost forgot rams.

Oh man, I hope rams will be tameable too, in the goat family. Another perfect dwarf species.

Re: New Pet abilites found on wowhead
I was reading the official forum thread about the beta maintenance right now...and apparently there's no content update in this patch, it's just a fix for the 64 bit client. I'm not sure if any of these new pets will be available once beta realms are back up...I hope so, but we might have to wait even longer.

Goats, Tabluks, and Rams could all go together, shoveltusk too.

But it gives us new things to watch for, Veph! Watch for ... and plan. +_+
On that note they need to give us those 5 stable slots currently 'locked' on beta, back.

Re: New Pet abilites found on wowhead
With new beast types, comes new beast families. It is as it should be.
Re: New Pet abilites found on wowhead
Hmmm....
Given these changes, a water strider might replace a Trex in my standard 5, hard to say for sure.
Interesting to see that the Quillin buff and the waterstrider buff overlap, but are not the same.

I got my Quillshower!
It may not do damage, but I gots it. :3
And I'm totally psychic about the basilisks. xD (Though I really was just wondering why we still don't have them as pets yesterday xD)
Cranes as their own family? With a better skill than tallstriders? Yay.
Waterstriders look like they're going to be the go-to pet for buffs. HOPEFULLY they aren't exotic. I can see Quilens as exotic, but hopefully not waterstriders.

I expect waterbugs will be exotics, simply because they have two useful abilities. Every other pet that has two useful abilities is an exotic. :c
