There's an icon at MMO - there's a whole series of legendary weapon icons - and a shield! Looks very class specific.

You can change a Legendary's appearance, but you can't make another weapon look like a Legendary (which I think is dumb...)

It looks like there will likely be an epic item of each given item, with the name "Sha-Touched (Insert rest of name)", then you use the legendary item on that Sha-Touched weapon/shield of choice, and it becomes the Legendary weapon/shield you wanted.

This brings up several important questions. Firstly, who gets the legendary mats first in a guild? If anyone of any spec of any class can get this Legendary, how do you choose? Secondly, are certain classes going to be able to get 2? What if you get the Sword AND shield, for tanking? Or the Mace and Shield? Perhaps the fist weapon is good for Rogues, will they get the Dagger AND Fist weapon?

That's my input for now.

cool! being able to choose what our legendary weapon is, thats pretty niffty. I am wondering if the icon is just generic for ranged weapons or if we will be limited to a gun. Hopefully its just a generic icon, because I really prefer a bow over a gun anyday.

Hmmm the tool-tip on the epic item itself intrigues me. "The powers of the last black dragon are yours to wield" So...whats the connection between the Sha and the Black dragons? "Last black dragon" so...Black dragons are extinct now then? Didn't we already just have an expansion about the corrupt black flight?

A gun, eh... well, as a dwarf I'm quite pleased, even if we're losing our racial gun specialisation. Guns just look good with dwarves.

Hmmm the tool-tip on the epic item itself intrigues me. "The powers of the last black dragon are yours to wield" So...whats the connection between the Sha and the Black dragons? "Last black dragon" so...Black dragons are extinct now then? Didn't we already just have an expansion about the corrupt black flight?

Wrathion, the purified (see Rhea's quest chain) black dragon, is the last of his kind, as far as he's aware at least. In the quest for legendary daggers he orders you to assassinate all the other black dragons left alive, together with his daddy, DW.

Hmmm I guess being able to pick the legendary is a good way of classes not feeling left out, but for me it now leaves even more doubt in the fact I'll get one. Our 10 man has close to one of each class, which is great. A legendary comes out and one the classes whom could use it have the chance to acquire it. And those whom cant use it, there is nothing to QQ about (well much). Now if anyone can get it, it means that as a group, 9 people may feel a little jaded, rather than just one or 2 whom missed out. (or even none, as we only have one rogue, so there was no issues or reasons to question whom was gonna get it)

This could cause rifts in even the fairest and equal of groups and guilds. I was quite happy to wait for the next hunter legendary as I was the only one in our group. I've been happy to grind out 4 legendaries now for others in our group knowing/hoping they would do the same for me when my turn came. Now however I think I'll be towards the back of the group due to not wanting to cause grief by whinging to get it and then having others think they are more worthy...?

That said we are not even sure how these weapons will play out, but I guess it will just depend on who is going to get the Breath of the Black Prince. Anyways, that's just my opinion, there will always be two sides to every coin.

Actually, what I think it will be doing, is that you upgrade the raid drop to legendary status.

This would make it so that its not picking that one person out of the 10-25 that come raiding. They can do it with quest rewards that drop from bosses, so why not raid bosses?

A lotta guild drama to be sure, unless they make legendaries much more accessible, in which case there will be other crying and gnashing of teeth.

Yeah Blizz did say they really didn't like the way legendaries played out last expansion (current?) and that they became wayyy to common and lost their "legendary" feel. They said they planned on making it a lot less accessible now and would be more likely that 10 mans would struggle to get one and that a 25 man struggle to get a 2nd b4 the next content came out.

As far as I was aware, yes, according to the legendary quest chain, all of the black dragonflight was destroyed by Wrathion. Whether this means they killed the ones in Outlands as well is beyond me.

I think the reasoning behind barring legendaries as mog sources, is that they're intended not just to be really powerful and cool looking items but also as hallmarks of the xpac they were added in, and therefore should age off and clear the way for new legendaries when the next xpac hits, e.g. basically they want to keep demand for new legendaries as high as possible.

Also I think part of the "legendary"-ness of a legendary is that you obtained it at-level when it was the most challenging to obtain (and impossible to solo) rather than blasting through a lower level area from a few xpacs back (that is, you obviously still *can* go after legendaries in lower level zones but ofc you're going to be taking a hit on stats).
