Has anyone been raiding Mogu'shan Vaults?

Unread post by Wain »

Is there anyone raiding on the beta? Is there anyone still on the beta at all? :)

If anyone is raiding, I was wondering if they would know the status of any of the following beasts: I expect the first four, at least, aren't tameable as I think they're part of a boss fight. I'm not sure about the last two. Wowhead also doesn't list their levels, so even if they're flagged tameable they may be too high. It's also possible they can be flagged tameable but give "already controlled" messages if you try.

Any info you can give at this stage would be hugely appreciated. Thanks! :)

First four are part of boss as you thought, so they probably won't become tamable (as we have Portent).
Stones ones then seem to be trash mobs. First packs seem to form from pack of Stone Quilens, whom one randomly turns into bigger (and probably stronger) Enormous Stone Quilen. I guess that neither of these turn tamable either.

Note: I'm not in beta, my thoughts are based on logical thinking and few streams from the start of raid testing.

I'm unsure myself but I wouldn't count them out as the hunched cats in Ulduar are part of a boss fight and are tameable.

Except in this case, they ARE the bosses. ;)

Oh they are? Mm....Well The Beast is a boss too...so is Chromaggus but I don't think we've had a tameable boss since the lvl 60 tier.

EDIT: No wait, we also had that one Devilsaur...the orange one in Wrath.

...and the bug trio of AQ! :D

Although in this case I think they've stated that those won't become tameable, as it would screw the fight mechanics too much, with them sharing hp pool and such.

The bug trio wasn't made tameable until long after AQ was no longer end game content too, so it's unlikely that those quilen will be made tameable in MoP.

Yeah in this case they're a current raid boss trio. I'd be shocked if they were tameable. It'd make passing that boss in the raid a cinch. Tame boss, abandon boss, boss runs off crying with abandonment issues. Maybe in a couple of expansions when it no longer matters much.

The devilsaur, King Dred, in DtK was unusual in that he was tameable at current tier. But (i) it was only a 5-man and (ii) he was an optional side boss anyway.

Fixed. :D

And Beauty was never made tameable, though she was in the same sort of position as King Dred. :/ So there's no hard and fast rules here.

plus they seem to want Pandaria rares to be unique (they went out of their way to make Hexapos unique) so I doubt that boss will ever be tameable, thanks to Portent.
