Yeah I hope they don't end up with IDs. I don't want an addon going off near tracks or anything. I'm fine with an NPC overlay type thing that would show up on your mini map but that's it. With the exception of the mob not actually dropping tracks at all I hope to see it kept like it is now. An actual hunt makes getting the pets finally that much sweeter!Kalliope wrote:They do, actually, but yes, it's against the spirit of the taming mechanic.Agravaine wrote:It would be interesting if the bloody tracks, flooded tracks etc. had object IDs like the bloody dreadsaber tracks in Sholazar, or the mysterious camel figurines in Uldum... but that would make it too easy.

Likewise. I've only turned up one object ID so far, and I hope the others remain obscure and unknown. I was only after Savage myself and was happy not to need the visual, but I can see this being exploited.Sesamee wrote:Yeah I hope they don't end up with IDs. Agreed, though on the plus side, it's only useful for noting that the rare is up and that it's within five minutes in one direction or the other. It's no guarantee that they'll find other tracks or the beast itself. So even hunters who try to do this won't be benefitting much from it, thankfully.Agravaine wrote:Likewise. Oh, I hear THAT one. Glad to have helped!Setanta wrote:Great guidelines and guide. Took me about 10-15 minutes each in the last two nights to tame Savage and Bloodtooth. The fun part now is having other hunters on the server asking me to help them find them to tame.

The others have been trapped before. Perhaps you tried trapping them while they weren't flared?Finduilas wrote:I don't know if it has been mentioned yet. You can catch the green Portent in a freezing trap. I checked blue, purple and red, too, but you can't trap those. I trapped three different green Portents and had the hunters I rehomed them too trap them, too.

Re: Where The Wild Things Are (MoP rare information)
When the trap expires, they'll stand there for a few moments, then--poof--they've leashed to where they 'should' be on their trail. I had someone tell me about it as it happened with Glimmer, and saw it first hand with Portent.
