Using Dire beast throws up a bit of anything depending on your location... Less you're me then it seems to really really like my favourite Tallstriders :) Perhaps in the future but right now they aren't.
My main's a Druid so I of course love critters. That counts for something right? Right?

Thanks to pop for bringing the mmochamp db to our attention!

Thanks for crosschecking the list! I wonder which of those is our silkworm. ;) (I'd be scared if it was the Deep Tunneler!)
If the silkworm follows the route of the others, he probably isnt in that list. The others arent technically flagged as rare apparently, and that list only deals with technical rares. None of the mop "rares" showed up even in the live rare beast list for this reason. /shrug

But they are on the older list that wasn't exclusively silver dragon mobs. :)

Yes. The 'new Pandaren rares' use the same names and database numbers as the aforementioned rares. I've had them in NPCScan forever due to this. And they still get pinged every time someone pulls them out since I'm not set with a particular 'zone setting'. It wouldn't surprise me if our caterpillar gets his name reused as well. :)

Does this mean you're now immune to NPC scan heart attack syndrome? :)

Pictures for Petopia of the ghost pets. I think Wain already made pictures of the other unused skins.

I'll PM Wain to make the smaller versions of these pics. My program hates to shrink images. Makes them super blurry.

i feel bad for the NPCscan and Silverdragon mod makers as they now have to add a ton of new rares into the addon databases so they will pick em up!

Quivering: thanks so much for that list. That's very useful. You didn't happen to save the NPC IDs as well, did you? Those are handy for NPCScan :)

On that list, Pridewing Patriarch (listed with a '?') is a wyvern, so not important for taming. I was hoping to request he be added back anyway, and maybe given the green skin. All the other wyverns are orange and Sorrow Wing is blue, so it'd be nice. :)

I'm a little surprised at the feeling that Chrominius "cheapens" Chromaggus. The new one is a rare, it won't be there all the time. In fact with CRZ in a popular thoroughfare it could be quite hard to find at times. Chromaggus, however, is extremely easy to get for anybody at 85, let alone 90 (hell, we were two-manning it on the Cata beta in substandard gear) and he's guaranteed. You need two people to get past the first boss, but it's most certainly not hard.

i dont think Chrominius cheapens Chromaggus at all, i dont ever see anyone running around with Chromie which is a shame and least with a rarespawn variety, it means people dont need to wait till 85+ to be able to solo their way to Chromie and people who decide to do transmog runs wont have a whiney hunter praddling behind hoping to tame him :P Chromini just makes that skin more obtainable but i doubt by any means its going to ruin the value of the model

Not really. They auto-add.

The hardest work is being done right here, right now. :)

As far as I can guess, the hanging issue with certain no-go zones is networking related. The symptoms are consistent with those you experience when your modem goes down, i.e. you stay online for about a minute afterwards but all mobs are missing. Then suddenly you disconnect. It seems to be certain zones that are triggering this. So your connection to the realm servers is fine until your character gets to the point where it goes to place you in the zone in question. Then it loses connection and seems to hang until the normal network timeout drops you.

I wonder if certain zones are simply configured incorrectly for CRZ and so you end up with some sort of null reference instead of a proper server reference. Though if so it can't be just CRZ as some instances (Nexus for example) are doing it as well.

This is all guesswork. But if so, I wonder if people who are experiencing this problem 100% of the time might be able to fix it by clearing their network cache, or maybe there's some sort of server cache in the PTR app folder. Worth trying.

I just ripped the text and put it into columns and organized from there, sorry :(

In a *fingres crossed* bit of news, Dun Morogh is no longer crashing me after the rolling restarts. So KALLI! Go do your Wetlands sweep-over while I check out Loch Modan! And let's see what other rares might be out there. Neither are any of the Outland areas; I was able to get my other bit out of Blade's Edge no problem.

... *pray pray pray*

And further good news: it seems that NPCScan isn't breaking this time around for me. I'm going to take a couple trips around and see if I can pick out some rares to add to our collection! First stop, Loch Modan.
Come see Kurasu's stables!

*rushes to Wetlands*

I could definitely have missed something, but I just went over the whole zone and was disappointed to not find anything new. :( I was so sure maybe a new crocolisk rare would show up...

I'll keep looking.

I've fallen in love with the yellow Wind Serpent. I think its colour suits a Darkspear well.
