I never bothered to turn the UI off to start with, sorry. Photobucket is also acting up so these will disappear and reappear for a minute.

My main's a Druid so I of course love critters. That counts for something right? Right?

Quick gif of the run animation from the back. The left leg just look so weird, and there's the impression of like...spiky hip bones jutting out.
It looks fine from the side, I'm just having trouble getting past the rear view.

That's the hip fluff which is weirdly stiff at the back.

*nod* Yeah, I just can't help seeing it as some sort of bone that's sticking out.

Tell me about it I just kept noticing while running around myself. The excessive speed on the ground looks like two halves joined together and the whiskers look like facial stabbing implements Oo So weird!

I love the talbuk skeleton and everything about it but on a windsteed, the rear view is a bit scary i can definitely get past it but its still creepy. Also really not liking how red the nose is on the white, it looks really disturbing and way out of place when you consider the other colors have reasonably well blended noses to their fur color. It looks like the nose was skinned and or rubbed raw @_@ Other then that, the model is still winning me over as a whole

The stiff bit of fur is a little odd, but overall, the effect isn't bad. It's a butt I could bear staring at. XD

Albino's do because of lack of pigment but animals who are naturally white, most if not nearly all (still a few selections do have pink) do not.Ziarre wrote:

The too-fast ground run animation is a problem suffered by the HH horse too, despite the fact I've been complaining about it for over a year now.
Why can't they FIX it? It's not like slowing a run cycle is hard.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

Oh also gonna throw in, that Deni is a Level 64 version I ported over prior to Cata hitting and for whatever reason she remained on there. Thank god she's level 89 now and much less ridiculous looking

I actually really like them, and I don't think they run too badly. I was expecting they were going have the bad limp of the worg but they don't.
But more interestingly, it turns out the riding model has a complete "no saddle" model underneath! With many mounts, if you remove the saddle then you end up with a model full of holes. Not with these guys!
Removing the saddle reveals a bit more about the look. It shows the extent of the scales, and also explains why some of their barbels don't seem to match their skin colour (they do, but the skin they match is hidden under the armour). It also shows that they don't resemble goats as much as it might initially appear.
Shots of the back and belly, showing more detail of the scaling pattern and the spines:
It's a shame these guys weren't ready at release. They would have looked fantastic in Jade Forest.

I thought about mentioning this, but I'm not 100% that it's using the HH skeleton--it could be the talbuk one.Nachtwulf wrote:The too-fast ground run animation is a problem suffered by the HH horse too, despite the fact I've been complaining about it for over a year now.

Edit: Very nice, Wain! I think I'm pretty satisfied with their rendition of a kirin.

They look gorgeous without the saddles! Now I'm really hoping they'll add them in as mobs somewhere, they'd be lovely out in the wild.

OMG Wain, I'm so with Veph on this, they look exceptional without the saddle. I was still on the fence a little prior, but those ones just look so much betterVephriel wrote:They look gorgeous without the saddles! I think this is why players often prefer mounts without all the harness. The harness often hides the beautiful detail and colour balance the art team originally came up with for the beast. I'd say it's definitely the case with these. The white and red/blue ones are now my favourites by far.

Oh god I'm throwing my non-existent money at the screen for the black one, but it isn't appearing! 8(

Sorry.... well not really, But you can blame Wain for this one (though I think I may still like the armored version better, oh I can't decide >.<)Alex wrote:Oh god I'm throwing my non-existent money at the screen for the black one, but it isn't appearing! 8(

Thank you for a pic at this angle, I didn't realize they have two spikes on each leg.Wain wrote:Shot of the belly, showing more detail of the scaling pattern and the spines:
