It was originally my intent to only tame Stompy, but then this happened:

Viggo

Image

Takeshi

Image

Irving

Image

Miles

Image

Royston

Image

It was an accident, I swear! I didn't mean to tame them all, but I had itchy taming fingers and I am loving the new taming challenge method.

I got pretty lucky with all mine. I found each of them first time and tamed them within 15 minutes, with the exception of Royston (and to a lesser extent, Miles), who I had issues with due to the amount of phasing he is effected by. In the end my latency worked in my favour for him and I found him where an non-phased area meets a phased area - but there was some minor lag in the loading of the phasing, so I actually got a glimpse of him without his invisibility, and then I flared him out shortly afterwards, I didn't even see his footprints until after I tamed him. Glimmer gave me a bit of trouble as well, he kept vanishing, then changing direction on me, then he hit the phased area - I would up going to his end point and back tracking (I found his at the river like a lot of others did)

Big thanks go to Sams for the pathing maps and Kalliope for the videos. (I never would have worked out how much of the area Portent phases in without your video Kalliope.)

And has anyone else noticed how smug the quilen look?

Ahhh, look what I just stumbled into!
Image

I was doing Cloud Serpent dailies and suddenly realized my mouse was resting over some tracks. After "..."-ing at this discovery for a moment, I followed them around to the nearby start of his path, and figured he must be turning around. Flared and found. He is like my third water strider but THAT'S OKAY I LIKE WATER STRIDERS KIND OF A LOT. Fortunately, the other players in the area were too busy killing things to notice the crazy hunter flaring and the big shiny red rare thing appearing. >_>;

But he is actually my second MoP rare...
Image

This is the one I actively hunted. Set out looking for tracks right after the servers came back up from that urgent maintenance a while back, and sure enough, there they were. When I followed them, however, I came across another hunter, a pandaren - who was already sporting a Savage! Naturally my first thought was "Oh shoot, I bet she just tamed that and I'm too late!" Seeing she was Horde, I was about to whisper her to ask/congratulate, but the she turned, flared - and THERE HE WAS HOLY CRAP. I flailed about, marked, and tamed him and promptly thanked the lovely lady! Missed grabbing an immediate screenshot, sadly, so I don't remember her name, but still, all of my love. I named him to reflect the virtues of kindness to strangers, I guess.

I'm gonna quit babbling and go back to playing and lurking forever now, yay!

Pandaria taming?
Well, I did happen upon the trail of the mighty Hexapos, whom is now under my whim of command.

He gives me the water walking buff, and, he is quite the gentleman; what more could I want?

Image

And, as a non-pandaria-related manner, I did manage to get the lovely Magria yesterday; was quite excited about that.

i also have tamed savage, and stompy, but not so recently

I was actually level 89 questing in the dread wastes when I saw some weird tracks on the ground, I followed them backwards, flared and saw a pink glowy floary thing. But alas, I was "too low level to tame this beast". So I leveled up! Haha, I was only like half a blob away, ding! I quickly got flying and flew around the map, he had moved all the way to the top, but he was still there! :3

Congrats on your new Hexaposes (what is the plural of Hexapos? Hexapi? Hexapose? whatever...). He's looking really stunning and is still eluding me. Maybe I'll find him someday.

I was going to say, I could let you know if I see him on my server.. but alas you're on the EU servers. =(

I finally made some room in my stables for the gorgeous black tiger. I've pined over him ever since I came back to Pandaria and didn't have the room. I got Savage, and my other spot was being saved for Portent. So I reluctantly let go of one of my Chimeras as I had three(old world fuzzy white/blue who I let go, outland white/blue, and outland purple/blue). I don't regret it, he is such beautiful cat.

Here he is chilling in a tree in Townlong.
Image

Both of us relaxing in the shade of the tree.
Image

I'm debating naming him Zetsumei, after my rare black cat I had in Perfect World.I don't normally like to reuse names, but I miss him. Here's some screenshots of the original Zetsumei: Side View and Zetsumei about to nom me while playing dead.

I also traded my Jormungar worm for the hairless version. I mentioned this in another thread, and I know it's not a Pandaria tame, but thought I'd throw him in. I took a screenshot of us at a cliff edge, while I show him the wonderful new land and architecture of Pandaria. He was cooped up in a tunnel in Maraudon for his whole life. Now he gets to see the wonders of the outside world.

Finally finished off unphasing Vale of Eternal Blossoms and look who was waiting for me! :D

Image

My favourite colour too! Even if he does have a weird face.

(After I took that shot I went afk for a little bit and two alliance hunters showed up and started flaring. They saw me standing there... I think I may have ruined their day :( )

Shuurai and her five quilen: Fortune (green Portent), Yachi (purple striped organic), Fame (red Portent), Wulon (gray stone), and Ruin (organic red with blue mane). Out of all of them, only Yachi is female.

When I first started leveling her, the only quilen I planned on was Ruin, but the other four ended up winning me over. She's got one stable slot left. If I run into purple Portent, I'm doomed.

*smiles* Thank you, Rhyela. They really grew on me even though I always liked them since they were first revealed, I honestly never thought I'd end up with a whole group of 'em on a single hunter. I'm also not bothered by red Portent's lack of whiskers. To me, it fits him, since it looks like battle scars.

So far I have tamed Savage, Bloodtooth, Glimmer, Hexapos, Stompy, and the green, cobalt, and red versions of Portent. The remaining ones are Savage, Bloodtooth, Glimmer, Hexapos and the cobalt Portent. Stompy was dumped to make room for Hexapos for two reasons. The trample ability currently doesn't work for any goats and I also like the plain brown and white goats better than the blue skin of Stompy anyway. I'm also not enamored of goats as pets in the first place. As mounts, yes, but pets that fight for you, not so much. I'm actually not crazy about Glimmer and Hexapos either and they may eventually go. Savage and Portent I like a lot but I'm not sure why the game keeps calling the Quilen dogs when they obviously are Chinese guardian lions.

I also have a black crane, Ichabod, who matches my Regal Riding Crane.

I'm so doomed. Meet Memory, Shuurai's sixth and (hopefully) final quilen. I found her tracks as soon as I got to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, and it didn't take me as long to find her as it did her brothers. I think I'm starting to finally get the hang of the tracking mechanic.

This is Caramel. I actually tamed Savage first but then I fell in love with Caramels colouring. He seems to have taken over from Savage these days!

Image

This is Inkfeather. She's my trusty tank. The cranes have gorgeous models and I really like the striking black-white and red colouring on her.

Oooo, that purple Portent looks really nice with you, Falconcrest/Toph. :)

Taiji, that's a beautiful tiger. It looks way prettier in that picture than in Petopia's (no offense meant, of course!). WMV just doesn't seem to do it justice.
