well that's some great news!! And if they can get a breeding program going and bring back the species, the better. Hopefully things go well for their endevours.

I'd heard about hybrids in the past, but I had no idea they suspect there might be pure-breds out there as well. That would be an exciting find 
If they do find some, the population (and hence genetic diversity) will probably still be very small. I wonder if they froze any semen samples from the old guy. Maybe he could father children yet
