My friend found and mounted him last night on his server though. He got kicked off once he got him to about 20%. This dragon is such a Troll.

He doesn’t know what happened. He is convinced he must have unknowingly hit FD by mistake thanks to shaky hands, but he doesn’t really remember if he did or not. Now before I say anything I should let you know I have not personaly confirmed this. I was going to put in a ticket myself but I had to get to class and now I can’t get back on WoW until tomorrow night. With that being said…
My friend who was kicked off of Aeonaxx mid-flight put in a ticket and got a response not too long ago. The gm went through the logs and told him that:
#1 there was no record of Aeonaxx being killed. (herp derp)
#2 there was no record of him casting a spell, clicking a button or doing anything that should have kicked him off of Aeonaxx.
He says the GM went on to inform him that they have revived over a hundred tickets from multiple servers reporting the same problem and that this is a bug with the mobs code. He said that as of right now there is about a 50% chance of him despawning mid fight and they are hoping to fix this by next week.
Feel free to submit your own tickets to help confirm or debunk this- I will probably make my own ticket when I can and try and provide some screen shots of the conversation when I can. Seeing how he despawned out from under my friend and I myself couldn’t not find the body when I tagged him, it seems to add up in favor of this statement. I highly doubt Blizz will be kind enough to give a mount to those who got a “bad” Aeonaxx so it’s probably tough luck for us campers.
I just thought I should try and give everyone a heads up so you can go do other things until this gets fixed.

uuggh I know right? =.= Somtimes I feel like Blizz has become very stingy when it comes to recovering loot. I know that after xmog came out they got swamped and just kind of threw their hands up in the air and gave up- (I understand that. I would probably do that too.) but it is still so frustrating.

Well no word on a GM about the whole Aeonaxx thing. They just handed me a freshly opened batch of canned answers so I will try again.
But I have made good use of my “day off!” Behold my pretty, pretty princess pony! (I think I will name him Shank… because he looks like that kind of shady character. O.-)

I also managed to pull some guildies together to help me finally finish off that last pesky achievement at the end of ulduar to help me get my rusted proto drake! Now the only proto I am missing is violet and I get that next Sunday! *squee*

*drools* I just love the colors on this guy. So worth my afternoon!

I am also looking for ICC, FL and DS glory runs and Ulduar 25m xmog runs so if you see one…*wink wink*

I can always try pulling you in on the HM speed clears if you're on sylvi. My guildies run all of those every week so you'd get most of your achis and just have to look for a group to do the harder ones (usually only leaves 2-3 achis to get done).

Hardmode aka heroic. There's no set times for them...just when people are on.

Kudo's to the people who still camp him after being 'bucked off' half way through the kill... I'm so glad this wasn't a bug when I finally got on board him, I was shaking so much when I was on him that I was terrified my net would die or cut out while I was killing him. I don't think I would have logged back on after loosing him with so much time invested in already.

Good luck on getting him!! Hopefully he stops by real soon and let's you finish the kill.

At least that is still the one mount I have that you don't. Maybe when I come back to wow I'll still be able to flex that

The first two times I lost him I really did feel like giving up; especially since I was so that I got the mounted message on my first sighting. I was pretty confident that I had enough backing me up to get this guy during our last encounter but I guess not. At this point it’s more or less just a numb, zombie-like determination and the *need* to capture him so I can fly him through some lava as revenge. I have switched camping spots to the middle spawn behind the temple though, since it puts me a little bit closer to some of the spawns. Maybe those few extra seconds cut off of my flight time will help me out, even though I can now only cover 3 spawns now instead of four. It didn’t matter much in the past since no one camped him on my server and I had lost him due to confusion, but with all the xrealm campers, I can’t risk the distance anymore.
Talking to a GM about the bug didn’t render much info. Just a couple of canned answers before I just said “Meh, 50%- I’ll take it.”
But I wasn’t shy about going off to get other things done this week. I ran into an ex-guildy who started her own guild a few months ago. She is quite the sweetheart and let me tag along in her guild run when she did icc and ds- so now I’m just a few achievements shy of my icc10m and ds glory mounts. ^.^
I also managed to endure the (slightly annoying) world event long enough to finish off the last few achievements needed for me to get the “Love fool” which just so happens to be the very last world event needed to obtain this fella!

A long strange trip indeed! I couldn’t complete most world events at 70 so I have been waiting for this bad boy almost as long as I waited for my raptor. I have mixed feelings about this mount. it’s awesome, I love the color and I can appreciate the time it took me to get it… but on the other hand, I may or may not have a few suppressed memories of trying to escape a lvl 80 warlock with one of these back when all the other mounts were 280%
Hehe, oh well. Still love it! This is the last proto drake I had left to obtain. With the acceptation of the discontinued naxx mounts, I now have every proto in the game! ^.^
And last but not least…

I finally won RBG#75! It was a path filled with triumph and frustration but it was well worth it. This mount has some nice details to it and I love the trophies tied to its butt. >_> (sorry horides- I still love you!) A very different farming experience, but it is one I would gladly do again. A big thank you to my bg team, despite all the trouble we get ourselves into- you guys always make me feel welcome and I have enjoyed our bgs together.
