Character advice (Edit:Need a little more guidance....)

Unread post by Hisae »

Hey guys,
I do apologize for the strange topic earlier. I took one look at my previous topics and they were all hunter/final fantasy topics so I felt a little embarressed. ANYWAY! I have started my level 85 huntress again and her name is Heartilly. I have been wanting a character to solo and I remembered my huntress! Its been a while since I've played my 85 and I've just started the MoP zones. She is low on gold and thus far, all I have for a profession is herbalism, any suggestions on something I can do profession wise that can help Heart get gold and if there is ANY advice you can give on what a good pet to get for leveling in the MoP zones I would be most grateful!

Also, anyone ever wanted to start over but have that feeling of awe and wonder as if you're starting Wow for the first time? I want to have a character to start at level 1. I do want a mage (but I've played one to 90 and I don't know what it is but I'm not feeling the class anymore), I enjoy seeing druids and I love paladins! I also want a DK but I don't know if I want to start at 55, but I know it is awesome to start that high. Decisions, decisions!
Guys, I would love some responses and I hope everyone is having a great weekend and great Easter!

Oh man, I know what you mean! I love trying out new classes. I think I actually prefer my priests over my hunters, tbqh. If you want the feeling of playing WoW for the first time, try a class and race you've never played, if there are any!(:

Warlock is a hoot right now... it may not last so you might wanna hop on the FOTM wagon before it capsizes.

I enjoy warrior and paladin a bunch too; it's a nice change of pace to run up and smack things instead of standing back and pew pew.

I agree with you though, mage feels like it's really lacking something these days. I got mine to 86 and he's totally stalled out.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

Ok,
I made a druid and I named her Yunas, but as I played her I had the weirdest thing happen! I was focused on getting to level 6 before leaving Shadowglen, but as I got closer and closer to my goal I started feeling my chest get tight and an uneasy feeling growing. I started to wonder why and I was going through everything, wasn't stress or worry, I wasn't sick....so I tried something that I could get back up to level 6 if it was the case. I deleted my druid and lo and behold, it had been my toon all along. I had let my main go, Yunas (level 90) the original, so I guess apart of me couldn't see Yunas as anything else but her 90 form. >.< (Restoring her as we speak. I'm going to figure out what to do with her) I'm going to have to think of what I want to make that would go well with a huntress and a mage. Heart is an herbalist/Inscription, Yunas is going to be tailoring again, hopefully Blizz can return the level 600 that I had original, if not I will work to get it back up! So, choices are for me:

Race:
Night Elf
Human
Gnome
Pandaren (maybe....)

Class:
Druid
Paladin
Death Knight
Monk (gotta find the right name/race combo)
Shaman
Will take any class suggestions!
I really am at a loss here.

I'm gonna suggest either Human Paladin (because you said you love paladins), or a Pandaren Shaman. I adore Pandaren, and my own Shaman is heaps of fun to play!

Seconding this, I've been playing both a human paladin and a panda shaman recently and they've been super fun! I've found that I adore Paladin tanking.

I've started a gnome monk and I am enjoying it! I'm just torn between starting at 1 or at 55 and apart of me still wants a Druid but can't seem to find the right name. I know I could make my own name but I keep being in a final fantasy mood. the name I'm stuck on is Rikku or rykku. I'm playing my monk to 10 to see if I like her to continue. I figured out how I could play a death knight. Instead of world of Warcraft death knight I see them as final fantasy x-2's dark knights as they are quite similar.

Ok, I know this must be getting old and trust me it is for me. *Deep sigh* As you all know, I've been restoring and deleting a particular huntress off and on for the last 2 years. I just can't figure out the reason as to why my first hunter keeps drifting back into my mind whenever I start a new one (I.E. Moonglaive-Level 7 NE huntress on Whisperwind) I'm happy with my newest hunter but for some unexplainable reason the ol' 85 makes me want to bring her back.

The problem is whenever I do bring her back and start playing her, I work on her for a few days but then I start seeing all the work that needs to be done to get her on par with my main, so I in the end delete her. I have no idea of what could be causing all of this confusion. Anyone ever have this happened to them and if so how did you resolve this issue?

Guys, appreciate you all for reading my topic and answering all of my questions that I have! I HOPE that this will end the tug of war that my ol 27 year old heart has been fighting.

Um, the quickest solution to your problem would be to quit deleting your huntress and then having her restored... Blizzard allows you to have 50 (or is it more now?) characters on one account, so if you are saying you have 48 (not counting your main) more important characters on your account than your huntress that you enjoy playing (sometimes)... then I guess deleting your huntress would be the answer.... but somehow I doubt you have 48 more important characters... but who knows.

If you are having trouble playing your second (?) hunter because you having a hard time with her not ever being as good as your first... then why try to be like your first? Switch factions with your new hunter... I know most of the quests are the same but it will semi-feel like that new fresh feeling, maybe. Also taking a different path (quest-wise and continent-wise) will make you feel differently... unless you have been through every single zone in the game multiple times over a menagerie of characters. By going a different route you also will open up the ability to tame new pets on a whim that you might not have seen on your previous travels.

Also, think of it like this... if you have two hunters on the same faction and every single one of their pets are identical all you are doing is releveling your first hunter with a different look, and to me that is pointless.

Sure you can have the same pet on the other hunter, but do it because you enjoy that pet and what it brings to the table...

If you get to the point where leveling another character (any class) is boring, and you can't bring yourself to do it more than a few days at a time... then maybe it's time for a hiatus...

I need more hunters, IMO.

Exactly what I was thinking. Instead of deleting her, just don't play her if you don't want to.

^This. Dont even know how you can bring yourself to delete a 90 toon! I can't seem to manage it beyond lvl 50 tbh lol!! All the work..anyway take the above advice and stop deleting her. Just dont play her abit if you can't be bothered.

I have 4 90's and my shaman barely gets played now, mainly due to the time factor. Doesn't mean I dont like her or have I ever thought to delete her. The thing I find the most annoying is gearing at 90...ergh hate it! I got my hordie to 90 and found I couldn't do some stuff cause her gear was so crap and thought of the time it takes...gah!

I have a million alts just cause I get bored sometimes of my main class or just like to lvl through the old zones again. If you can't deciede make as many as you wish and just play the ones you want, when you want. Thats what i do now :) Sorry if that doesn't help you but thats how I see the game.

That's just it really. Its a game and its meant to be fun, if your not having fun with a particular character, but still find yourself drawn back to it, then don't keep deleting it. Just take a break from it. Or set yourself some easily obtainable goals to do on her (battle pet hunting/battles if your into that, rare hunting, professions, how about just working on a mog set?) Simple, easy things that don't require focusing on everything needed to be on par with your main character.

Main characters are where you work hard towards stuff, alts are where you just do what ever you feel like, and have fun with no pressure. (imo)

I just got my 3rd character to 90, a rogue who struggles to kill a simple tiger...Its frustrating that he's so squishy, but I don't feel a big drive to try and gear him up to be on par with my main. For the most part (for me) I just enjoy playing the game, running dungeons, doing quests, learning some lore, getting distracted by random things (like stealthing around just pick pocketing mobs instead of killing this critters for meaty bits like I was originally meaning to do)

The main thing to do is what is fun. Play to have fun. That's what games are for. Real life is hard work enough, lol.

Thank you for the replies and yes you all are right.   I'm NOT going to delete her again and she will remain, if I start losing interest I'll just go and play a different character and just let her sit there till I get the urge to come back again. I really appreciate it and again I apologize for the constant topics about this particular character.

Just want to update that I've race changed her and from what I've played of her new form, I'm loving it! Heartilly the Pandaren Huntress! I've even gotten a theme stampede going in my mind and already one piece of the 5 tamed. JordanK or Jordan Knight of my NKOTB (New Kids on the Block) themed Stampede! I'm doing all pandaren tigers and JordanK is a black one. Guys, thank you once more and let's get this party started, shall we? ;)
