Re: Outland for "Next Expansion": Is It Really a Good idea?
I think it won't have the same groaning of cata. The revamping Cata had wasn't the issue. It was the fact there was little to do other than Dragon Soul for six months. I enjoyed the revamp of the old zones(questing through them SUCKED back in the day). I, for one, would love for them to redo Outland cause Outland makes everyone groan.

Re: Outland for "Next Expansion": Is It Really a Good idea?
I'm mixed on the idea of having Outlands revamped. I liked old Azeroth. Theres a lot of zones that are so vastly different that I just can no longer find the love in them and it kills me, its like, right in the feels that will never go away no matter how much time will pass so long as I play the game.
Though I'm not exactly a fan of Outlands in quests and environment, its familiar, its... safe. Like, a safe place, a place to escape to, to get away from the updated content that is new Azeroth. Same goes for Wrath, I spent pretty much the entire existence of TBC and Wrath actually online and playing at least for a few hours everyday, or most days, so I did the content over and over and over and lived in it for forever at a time so its pretty nostalgic to me and I might cry if I see them revamped.
But memories and feelings aside, probably only Nagrand do I actually like in all of Outlands and if that environment is ravaged, and the floating islands destroyed or damaged or whatever, or stuck overlooking ravaged, chaotic land, I will definitely cry over that. They can do whatever they want to the other zones, just please, leave Nagrand alone... I beg of you Blizz, if you revamp, please do not turn Nagrand into a wretched wasteland.

Re: Outland for "Next Expansion": Is It Really a Good idea?
Personally I LOVED outlands. I'd like to be able to go back and revisit it...Would also be nice if several new zones "floated" in to add more content. I never quite got to battle the "burniing legion" in its glory since I started playing a little after BC was released and I was still very much new to the game then, not really understanding what was going on.
To be honest, I think It has been long enough since players where focused in outlands, that revamping it and having new zones/content brought in would be great. especially with Phasing...now if they could keep "old outlands" as it is, for level/questing, and then Phase in the new content for veteran players so that the old outlands and the revamped outlands where very different, that would be great.
But on top of the hinting of the burning legion, I've always wanted to see the emerald dream, and hoped desperately that there would be some expanded quests/dungeons/zones related to that.

It's been how many years since BC? I think it would be fine. Change can be good you know.

I had a talk with a friend, he said this (I think its false but here it is)
"the burning legion should have stopped coming after illidan was dead, which can only mean 1 thing... ILLIDAN IS ALIVE"
hope so, probably not

What? Illidan didn't command the Burning Legion. Kil'jaedan did and he is very much alive. Illidan is definitely dead(unfortunately).ashdawn wrote:I had a talk with a friend, he said this (I think its false but here it is)

Re: Outland for "Next Expansion": Is It Really a Good idea?
As someone who liked Cata much more than BC. I would not like to return to Outland. Even now I get stuck when leveling an alt when it comes time to go through the portal. I hate the zones with the exception of Nagrand.
BC started off good in raiding with Karazhan but went steadily downhill after that culminating in what even Blizzard considers their biggest mistake, the Sunwell. The last 3 months of BC were the only period since I started playing in late 2005 that I actually unsubbed. It was mainly because of the ridiculous difficulty of the raids (not only Sunwell but even TK was too hard and Kael destroyed my guild because we couldn't get him down). In contrast, I loved Firelands (but again, Ragnaros was way too hard) and even Dragon Soul was okay. I liked every leveling zone in Cata.
I am not against the return of the Legion, I think it's inevitable, but please, NO MORE OUTLAND. At least we'll have LFR this time though. I consider LFR one of the best things they have ever done.

Re: Outland for "Next Expansion": Is It Really a Good idea?
I think the biggest reason I'd like this is cause it would give more Draenei lore. I love them to bits, it once you leave the starting area, they barely exist, even in Outland. A lot of stuff was tied more to the BEs and Orcs. Worgen are kinda in the same boat lol, unless you play Horde. It would be nice to see Draenei play a larger role (I think you saw them once in North rend when they were trying to give assistance but were basically told no cause they were too exotic that some peeps were made uneasy by them. I wouldn't mind more played on this, trying to get along with the more humanoid races).
I also enjoyed Outland, especially Nagrand and Zangar. If they reworked it or maybe somehow added new areas (maybe other large chunks of the planet floated closer) that'd be cool. Or hell, maybe somehow go to Argus too.

Personally, I'd like something truly new. Like the emerald dream. I'm not a fan of phasing, and going back to old places just feels like cheaping out.
Give us a new place, don't phase things so heavily that it makes questing with friends hard, and give us more to do than endless, endless, dailies.

Re: Outland for "Next Expansion": Is It Really a Good idea?
The dailies are much better than the horrible way they did 5.3. A series of dailies instead of a ridiculous weekly and NPC's you can't kill would have been much better. Dailies give you a reason to log in every day and I had no issues with the way the first set was gated. It made perfect sense to establish the defense of your home base before venturing out further. It should be done that way again.
As far as Outland goes, Zangarmarsh is the zone I hate more than any of the others. Not so much for the looks but for the horrible quests with low drop rates for the items you need to collect. The only good part of Zangar was finally being able to get a Hippogryph mount.
