Pokemon!

I know that, in some contexts, like controversial ones that I won't bring up, are in favor by an overall world mass which is not necessarily a good thing and for some of these things its actually really bad what with human rights and such, but this is a very, very different kinda topic that isn't problematic in anyway, its just character designs for a game of all ages. Nintendo doesn't share with us any of their designs they come up with till they're official so I can't really see the harm in scouting out ideas from fakemon and changing them up to make it their own design to avoid issues with the fakemon's concept artist

It won't be a fakemon anyone had invented anymore once Nintendo was done with it since they'd have to give the artist credit indefinitely which companies don't like to do. They'd rather take different aspects of several characters and throw a bit of their own imagination in to create the final result. It won't be someone elses design anymore, it will be the company's design

Taking ideas off fakemon would help generate interest in both communities since the people who don't have any interest in fakemon won't really care anyways since they're not even part of the fakemon following, so it makes no sense why they'd be up in a flurry if they don't give a cent of their mind to fakemon concepts. They take things in stride, since as I mentioned in the first paragraph in this post, Nintendo doesn't share their designs before they become official

Some of the pokemon will be well received, others not so well, by both fakemon followers and pokemon community equally, that's just how human nature is, but at least looking at the fakemon fanbase, as those are the people who have interest in the direction Nintendo is going with pokemon, will help them create pokemon that will be well received and reduce the amount of recycled and potentially unimaginative pokemon get released

I disagree. I don't think it would stop "potentially unimaginative pokemon" Lots of the fakemon I see look unimaginative to me. I also don't think it would help them create Pokemon that are well received.

But the pokemon that would be released by Nintendo would look very little like the fakemon's the ideas were stripped from. It's like brainstorming, your never going to end up with the same result if you brainstorm while pulling ideas from various other peoples thought bubbles. This brainstorming just happens to not be where the fakemon's artist isn't designing a concept with the company and instead the company is watching from afar taking examples and inspiration

Lets see if I can clarify something about "majority".
In this particular topic in regards to likes/dislikes of "fakemon" designs:
The majority is based upon the population that actually states an opinion about something. For example:

Say that 100 (I like easy numbers for examples) people saw this picture and lets say 85 of them thought the design was really cool and wanted it to be a real pokemon, and 15 people hated it and wanted it to never exist as a real pokemon.

From this we can say that 85% of the fans like this pokemon and only 15% didn't. So it would be concluded that the majority of fans like this design. (even though not every single fan voice and opinion on it). The term "Majority' comes from the actual sample population that states an opinion about a particular thing.

Sooo, when I say The "majority" of fans like a particular "fakemon" it is based off of the number of people who actually commented an opinion on it. The number of people who's involvement is used to calculate something is called a "Sample size". These are actual scientific concepts used to measure something when the actual population size is either to big to calculate, or to big to all take part.

So When I said: It's a pity they don't pay more attention to the fan-made stuff to get a closer understanding of what the majority of the fan population enjoy more.

I am talking about the majority of the sample size, and whether the majority of that sample size likes or dislikes the concept. When I say "The fan population enjoys more" that also implies what they dislike as well, since if they don't like a concept, they dislike it. (in the case if neutral opinions, often for these types of studies only 2 outcomes are measured "Like" or "Don't like" and neutral is not factored in.)

I don't feel as if you are quite understanding the point that was being made. Yes, there are some really shitty fakemon out there, there are also some mindblowingly awesome ones as well. Now, if the design team where to take a look at fakemon that people make, and how they are received, they can get some general idea's as to what people Like or don't like about these pokemon designs, they can then use this research to create pokemon that have the characteristics that were so well received in the fakemon idea's.
The concepts themselves can give the design team ideas as to what people would like to see as pokemon.

It's not saying that every fakemon should be made into a real pokemon because someone liked it. It's doing ones research on what people like to better improve and cater to the likes of the majority.

I only really want shiny Dialga/Palkia/Giratina because then I don't have to play more than just Diamond to get those legendaries. I own Diamond and I've avoided it this long because I dislike most of that generation of Pokémon. Also because I've never been to a GAME event before and would just like to see how it works. I dunno, kinda exciting for me somehow.

Apparently not according to one Ep of Pokemon (of course, I think that for some ungodly reason [read: writers forgot] they forgot they had water pokemon on them).
