Actually, it's one part alive, then one part with rotting flesh, and then the last bit of the tail, which is purely skeletal.

The little lore I did write about it (yes, I did) was that it was one of Hakkar's children, who escaped the zealous clutches of the adventurers going to kill it's father, only to die at the hands of a [Not decided yet]. Now he roams the ancient mountainpassages of Zul'Gurub, seeking vengeance on [Not decided yet].
