Hey if anyone has dragons they plan to exalt, can you send them to me at Carnifex 8097? I'll send you the treasure, but Lightning is making their push today and tomorrow to finally win the All-Flight Domination, and we've got the lead now but Earth has been putting up a hardcore fight and we need every dragon we can get.

It appears that people using this site with Flight Rising might have been DoSing the site and causing some issues. At least some progress has been made on the issue!

I don't see what the difference is between using Snaplinks and just opening multiple tabs on a simple right click. I do that on my computer and tablet so I can open all the different forum posts I'm pinged on so I don't miss one. So I shouldn't do that because it my be causing the site problems?

Snaplinks lets you do it in one swoop rather than clicking individually. I used it for Magisteam.

I'm actually legitly ANNOYED by this! This is a load of bullshit....

they have said that opening multiple tabs are fine. But using a program like Snaplink is not. Apparently they have already seen quite a change in the site after changing the TOS (And most likely warning people they found using it).
The board is very interesting to read as there are a lot of arguments about how the site works when used on FR. Very interesting stuff.

Just thought I would share to possibly prevent some people getting smacked with a ban hammer.

Do they give a reason besides "it's against TOS" as to why it's bad?

If you read the board I'm sure you could find some reasons. Ill pull out a few quotes though.

Please stop using it immediately. It appears wide-spread use of snaplinks is creating a DoS, damaging the site. The intended function and use of this script is a bannable offense under our Terms of Use.

While it does not automate actual gameplay mechanics, it does automate viewing several parts of the site at a single moment, which is creating an adverse effect on both the site and other users. As we've said multiple times, using some tabs to play Flight Rising is completely okay, but if you are opening 10 or 20 or 30 or 40 of them at a single moment in rapid succession? That is an issue.

Please let me be completely clear here: We are not the fun police, out to destroy everyone's good time. At a certain point, however, we need to take steps to protect both the site from automated gameplay and unneeded stress that will hamper everyone else. Or worse, cause such congestion that the experience suffers for every single other player, results in breakage, loss, downtime, and further pushback on our efforts to optimize and create new content and features.

We are not out to dictate how you interact with the site, but some of the reports and information we have been receiving have been excessively large, and that's a problem we can't ignore and won't ignore.

Like I said before:

Using tabs is okay, if they're opened at normal intervals. We understand people use tabs. It's when several of those tabs are opened at one single moment that we run into an issue

Sorry but they're full of ****. There has been ZERO difference since this announcement. Colli still breaks on me. The site still lags. No difference what so ever. Magistream has far less players but most use SnapLinks and open thousands of tabs at a time yet the site works just fine. I don't think the admins even know what the hell a DDOS attack even is.

Junrei, site's basically unplayable for me. just now I saw less than 600 users online and got heavy load errors. Finally got it to load and now it is just hanging...

I've used snaplinks for YEARS on adoptable sites. Never had a problem. I've NEVER used it on FR. Never really needed to since 98% of the time I'm on my tablet when on there. Even on my computer I've never used it. I think it's a cop-out that they're blaming Snaplinks for the sites poor running. Especially after being on places like MagiStream etc.

Funny that I've never even thought to uses snap links to bond with familiars etc.

Edit: Actually. After this nonsense I am not putting real money into the site anymore.

Random, but who does everyone go to for art? Or do you have anyone you would recommend? Are they expensive, not that expensive, etc.?

I haven't ever gotten art on FR, so I'm afraid I'm not much help.

On a completely different note, I finally made myself a hatchery on FR! It's still under construction, sort of, but it's open.

Actually after speaking to an actual programmer programs like snap links does cause issues. It is also against the TOS for Dragon cave. Every time a link is open it uses its own separate memory space so if you have many people using it all at the same time it causes memory issues.
