Agh, okay I really don't like the fingers at all. It looks like some creepy human hand poking out of the fur. Previously the fingernails did not look so humanlike (which could very well be the low texture, but still) and the fingers themselves weren't flesh coloured.

Still not sold on the faces either. Hrm...

I like the face and the expression (and the fact they don't have rigid ankles anymore)... but I can't help thinking they look kind of like the reindeer in Frozen. There's just something about their talking animation that screams Disney.

Guess that's not bad though.

someday I'll find someplace to host a sig that isn't stupid money-grubbing photobucket

Mm, actually yeah Nachtwulf, that's what's bothering me I think. I don't like saying it's "too cartoony" since WoW has never tried for realism, and I'm really fond of the stylization, but your'e right. The Tauren just looks way too Disney to me right now.

There's a lot of improvements over the original of course, but the feel of the character is really different. I was trying to stay optimistic about them since they were still a WIP for so long, but this is sounding like the finished product and it looks the same as it did when we first got a preview.

Hmmmm. Yeah, I love it and I don't. I love the animations- the walk, run, and stand all look slightly more aggressive and... I dunno, LARGE. They really seem like a huge race instead of just... a race that has normal animations but is also big. I look forward to seeing how they look in-game, because I like where the animations are going.

And for the most part, I really like the face. But I do agree, it is a little Disney. But I think that's partially because they kept comparing it to the most wrinkly of the tauren faces, whereas the revamped one is clearly not that face. Plus, Tauren had some of the oldest and worst models out there.

Though judging by the models we've seen revealed so far- I think we're going to see a definite increase in stylization across the board. The female gnomes weren't all that much less cartoony than these tauren, honestly!

The animations are really incredible, I love how they're redoing those for sure. :) It was interesting getting a look behind the scenes for all the model rigs.

I'm sure I'll warm up to them eventually, I just wish the faces had gone in a slightly different direction. There's no question that they look great when comparing them to the original ones though, it's a much needed update!

Tauren was the first race I played, & I still like them. I think this looks great, minus the fingers. I personally love the face, but I'm also someone who liked the alpha male worgens better too.

Wow!!! Love how they turned out! The face looks amazing, especially compared to the old model face. The only thing I'm iffy on is the hands. Before they were darker colored, like the hooves, but these look more 'human'. Still, such a minor detail to a GREAT model overhaul.

I think the faces fit the style of WoW perfectly.

Now to sit back and wait for the females.

I love the new tauren, and I'm pretty sure I'll be rolling a female tauren soon >.> I've always loved them, but just haven't gotten around to leveling one.

I do agree though that the male is a bit too... cute? I wouldn't mind this guy as one face but I do hope they really consider facial variation with the tauren. One with a more wrinkled face like the old ones, for lack of a better term, with a slightly angrier/"savage" expression would be great.

I also hope they'll make scars a thing - and I liked that feather hanging off the tauren's horn previously, unless I'm remembering wrong... Stuff like that, being able to customize small details - scars, accessories, torn ears, etc. not just eye color and earrings - is what will make me beyond excited :P

I think the males look perfect. I completely agree with Cow, they suit WoW's style spot on. Watching the animation comparison... I knew the old ones were bad but... wow!

Gotta admit, even after roleplaying tauren for four years... I never knew wtf was up with their hands. Was it fur? Off-color skin??? What was with the nails???

They look a lot like I expected them to look- I always thought of their nails as being just large flat fingernails, and the skin having less fur. I don't really see them as hairless now- just with finer fur than the rest of their body, because they're pretty shaggy.

Here's to hoping the female tauren keep some of the changes they made- I'd really like a more aggressive, less soft and timid female tauren.
