Possible new mounts in WoD

Eh, I honestly don't see what the problem is. The ZG mounts weren't removed to make them prestigious, or because anyone who did ZG after that time didn't deserve it. They were removed because they redid ZG, and as always, were against keeping the old version intact.


They were removed in Cataclysm, and back then, people could steamroll it just as easily as I can steamroll Al'ar now. There was no difficulty involved anymore, so it's really only the ones who got it in classic who "fought for it". And for them, it already became less rare because others who didn't "fight for it" could get it, or not get it, depending on their luck.


Then you have the fact that some people ran ZG five or so times and got both mounts, while people who had been running it every week got nothing. I'm not a fan of the BMAH, I'm not a fan of goldsinks, but I'd rather have it back in WoW than not.

That would probably remove 99% of this forums "entitlement" to these mounts, but then that would be the only fair right?

I would not shed any tears if they made it easier to get the ZG raptor. I still have it and It wont go away because of it!

I don't mind the Bmah. Not with the ridiculous amounts of gold greys are worth now. With a bit of time and saving if you really want it you can get it :3 I'm sure WoD will make it that more easy to get!

Well we always end up with some kind of troll themed 5 man/raid in each xpack right? why not just add the mounts to that? or make a vendor that sells them at exalted and link said vendor to the new troll 5man/raid so that you earn rep by running it. it will be current content so you cant solo it right off the bat. it will give players a reason to run said raid/5man long after they have obtained their gear/gotten their valor cap and would make the mount harder to obtain to help preserve the "special little flower" status without keeping half the population from never obtaining it due to a lack of funding.

all just wishful thinking of course. Either way I will be trying to get this mount. it just sucks that I will have to spend so much money on something that I had been farming every three days for a year, just because I had crummy luck the first time around.

I think this is a winner. Have a vendor for the old school ppl that are already exalted so they can just buy it (same for the gear for xmog) and add the new dungeon for new players that gives the same rep (obviously they don't get the FoS though) so they can eventually buy it too - win win?

I'm in cows boat too - i was lucky to be able to get the raptor before it went bye bye so either way I don't care if other people can get it. Just make it so all that old rep counts for something I reckon. (says she who just tossed a bank full of zandalari coins >< )

going back a page or two to that new proto drake that was found, it looks like that will be an add that helps warlord zaela, who is the last boss in UBRS. Honestly it would be quite logical for her to drop one. We did get a way to obtain her last proto drake mount after all.

Me too! As a standard assumption, the Tiger should hopefully appear, but until it does, it's not 100% (Eg. the Plagued Protodrake is on the current BMAH, but not the Black :? )

I could have sworn I've seen the black on the BMAH, both on Bloodscalp and on Bleeding Hollow (went for like 400k on BS and 800k on BH). I know I've seen the plagued more (and for some reason my servers are having a run of greens this week) though, so I guess I could be misremembering, haha :x

I'd really like to see the original epic mounts (the non-armored ones) make a comeback. I always really wanted the palomino but I was playing a NE resto druid in classic so my ability to farm was basically non-existent—there was no WAY I was getting 1000g (for the mount + the ability to ride horses instead of cats) when I often couldn't afford to repair after a raid without an hour or two of farming, haha :x The armored palomino just... is a completely different (thinner) breed of horse. I really like the stocky work horsiness of the unarmored ones.

(I do remember feeling very smug with myself because I purchased the Pinto on my now-defunct dwarf priest just before they did the switch between mount training + physical mount costs so she was able to ride around on a horse despite being a dwarf. Such a rebel, haha.)

Again as much as I'm not in love with the BMAH, I would be dam happy to see the original vanilla epic mounts appear on it, for me it would kind of on par with the T3 gear.

I am tried to think a better way, but if added that amount of mounts (14 all up) I was struggling to think of a cohesive/potential way to implement them all other than a Argent Crusade type deal again. And then If they did, well would they then have to make/add another 2 mounts for each of Bloodelves, Draenei, Worgen, Goblins and Pandarens to make it all fair and equitable?

Can anyone else think of a clever way to maybe reinstate 14 vanilla only mounts?

Also for me, the collector in me would be stoked to own them all of course, but I would also be happy to just go after my favorite few 1st as well.

MMochamp has a tiny bit of info up on the ally chopper. its not much. They are saying it will be sold by a vendor for a hefty sum of gold. I guess it will be added to wod sooner than many of us assumed.

Not only do I think it looks cooler (like a snowmobile instead of some weird half-track bike), but it could be significantly rarer than the horde chopper. Not a bad result for some PR stunt I had no interest in.

The 3rd boss, Commander tharbek, in UBRS uses one as his mount. Its worth noting that the area you fight him in is the same area as Rend Blackhand and Gyth.

The boss journal shows the rylak as fully armored tan model...but the real thing is fully armored chromatic.

Oooh. I'd like me an armoured chromatic Rylak isn't that the boss that spawns those mini Rylaks during the fight? I'm pretty sure they're tan in coloration.

Side note. Surely the chromatic Rylak isn't chromatic anymore. I've always seen chromatic colours as bright and garish (did I use the word garish properly? Seems to suit.) like the mount experiment 12-B. Surely the chromatic Rylak isn't that anymore. He seems more autumn than chromatic.

Interesting. I bet the ram is the counterpart for the raptor. (Edit) just saw the ram picture. Not bad! I am not fond of rams but I could live with this one- even if i do think the raptor is cooler. I wonder if we will ever see unarmored versions in the wild.

I am curious to see what wings of Light will turn out to be. Is it referring to a mount that happens to have light-based wings? (like the flying boar? xD) could it be something phoenix based? Or could they actually be wings for players? I have always wanted actual wings- I am quite jealous of the crane wings healers get from the cloak and the dragon wings rouges get from the daggers. This would make me very happy.

whatever these things turn out to be, i cant wait to see them. Mount collecting is the main reason I play so I hope we can see these things soon. every build is like a min Christmas.

The ram seems kinda dull to me, for a Vicious War mount. Not bad, just... not very fancy or different or cool compared to the old rams (except for higher res). Definitely not like some of the others have been.
