Re: Gara
Been browsing this site for a while and since I'm in the beta I noticed something that kinda got me thinking.
Lvling up in frostfire ridge I got an Item called Ancient bone. Since it was white and I one of those people all for figuring out the Gara enigma, I decided to look it up on wowhead. It is listed as one of the items needed to make a Spirit Effigy http://wod.wowhead.com/item=120120. Not certain if this has been tried yet, but it might be worth a shot.

HMMM. I've seen some of these items that you need to create this randomly in my inventory, you could be on to something here...

Re: Gara
Maybe the effigy will put us into the spirit realm and we'll be able to do something there? Or it could be like the scarecrow and just be a cosmetic item. But I guess we have nothing else to go off of, except for the Shadowmoon dungeon.
Edit: are the beta realms offline for anyone else?

Re: Gara
I just checked my inventory - only got the cooked apple. I DID have the elder incense but I trashed it a few days ago and I can't remember where I got it. I had 3 of them and they all dropped off the same pack though, I definitely remember that.
Could well be that specific mobs drop these ingredients that we need.
I got the cooked apple in Nagrand but, again, I can't be sure where.

Hola - was slightly bummed when I returned from Hiking trip to see the daily thing not pan out :/
So I just ran Shadowmoon reg dungeon right before shutdown. Did not see anything in there - also to note, you can't eat the berries when your in there. Doesn't mean it is a complete dead end but the lantern certainly isn't sitting somewhere in there - camo'd after group left and re-walked the whole dungeon searching.
I tweeted Muffinus and asked if Gara could be done in the lvl 92-94 range and then if everything needed was in Shadowmmon - thought those were reasonable enough yes no questions. Hopefully he will bite

Re: Gara
Gara being a frost wolf lying in front of a grave with the frostwolf marker... that seems to be significant to me.
Makes me wonder where this is going. If Gara is just the spirit of a frostwolf, do we end up corrupting her with the void and turning her into the voidwolf?
too many questionsssssssssssss

Re: Gara
Just finished exploring Frostfire - a lot easier for me to do being Horde and very familiar with the area - about 3/4 done exploring - just a few more areas. Nothing to note - I did freak out when I found Frostwolf First Fang item - but that is an older item and a dead end (just makes a class spec item)
Only stones that have a frostwolf like symbol on them are the Frostwolf shamanstones. They added a new one lately - I went to each - one left I have to go to ) - and flared around them and searched - nada
I have to imagine that anything to do with the clan is not in the picture as far as settlements - unless anyone knows one that is Alli friendly - I will assume most are not - so I don't see them making us go there. Will finish looking around later - and then do a coastal round for Frostfire and Shadowmoon too.
No response from Muffinus (yet) which makes me ponder that if he responded it would be a give a way - which would only occur if you needed to be level 100 - and everything was in Shadowmoon. Might have to go search the level 100 with the alpha voidwolves some more.
Also - if that is the case - do the runes up there need to be figured out. There is a spot with runes - and two guys making a portal. Have not been able to use portal - but I figured you needed to do something with the runes first??

Re: Gara
I remember there was a quest in Frostfire where you help an orc hunter and in the process her wolf dies. It was very sad. When I first saw the ghost wolf at the grave I thought they might be somehow linked, but it doesn't really make sense in the context of it being a hunter taming quest.

Re: Gara
Why would a frostwolf grave be in Shadowmoon any way? I know its a burial ground, but is there anything Frostwolfy in SMV that could possibly be a lead? Maybe that whole aspect is just flavor.
Re: Gara
I am thinking that too a little. It certainly has nothing to do with interacting with a clan member (would probably be hostile to Alliance)
and it certainly has nothing to do with the rep (once again would leave out Alliance)
While The only thing that would semi make sense to me is that it would make alliance players have to do something in Frostfire - since Horde have to go over to Shadowmoon. Other than that (guess it could just be story) that's the only thing that kinda makes it seem feasible (unless there is going to be another SB in Frostfire). No idea what their thinking on this would be though.
Also saw some discussion on alliance side quests and npc's - just not going to happen - they wont lock horde out of it unless it happens to be a neutral npc. Only horde friendly areas I have really noticed are the level 100 areas. Every where else just seems to hold hostile alli npcs (towns etc)
Unless they do a first and make an Alli specific SB and a Horde specific SB - I think that rules out a lot of different things.
Sounds like you guys (Alli) have swept Shadowmoon zone pretty good at this point. think we need to find the lantern to check that off the list - then we can narrow it down to a place we have not found - or another item that we have not found or has not dropped.
I am starting to put most of my apples in Shadowmoon though at this point. I can't think of anything in game that would be so extensive as to make us run all over to multiple zones. Wouldn't just having hidden items in one zone be pita enough?
Why did I figure the berries where relevant - Mother O was in the same area. When you fight her she summons a SB - that was all I needed to run over to Gara and see what happened. Maybe lantern drops rarely off one of the mobs there (which would be a sick way of saying you will get to know Gara by time you tame her) , maybe lantern is not relevant. But seeing that she turns into a void wolf SB - I think that might make the level 90ish and level 100 void wolf areas also relevant. Not only that - similar mobs and there are also the neutral guys in those areas too - just saying.
/end ponderance

Re: Gara
i dont think that effigy stuff leads anywhere. All those items are quest items I believe. The small fruit for one is what you have to collect for a quest in Nagrand. You get the small fruit to feed a goblin's elephant.
Re: Gara
I'm glad I'm not the only seriously stymied here. Some questions that I think really need to be answered are, (1) Is there a level 100 requirement, and (2) Are there separate branches for Horde and Alliance?
I'm going to assume not to both since sub-100 characters could start the "quest", but that's not a certainty. Maybe there is something to be found in a 5-man heroic dungeon.
If there is only one branch for both Alliance and Horde then focusing on areas accessible, but not overly dangerous to either faction seems the way to go.
It's just odd that there's nothing obvious in the clues to lead us to the next steps.

Re: Gara
So - here is a pic. It is entrance to level 100 area with Alpha Void Wolves. Look at the banners. Look at gara's area on map - loot at the banners - look at Gara's are on map - I am not on a horse but I might be on to something?

not sure if this symbol stuff occurs anywhere else -
Seems like the level 90 area has these also - maybe I will concentrate my efforts in there - pretty sure the buriel grounds belongs to these guys anyways...

Re: Gara
So is that the area near the border of Shadowmoon and Spires? If it is I ran around there a little bit yesterday. I was on a level 97 so had a fair bit of aggro to deal with. The npc's drop a lot of Apex Crystals which is a form of currency. Lots of little labeled items, but I didn't find anything obvious, but I agree that areas is worth going over with a fine tooth comb.
