Translation favor
Can I ask a favor from anyone who knows Japanese? I'm looking for the word "son" in Japanese, but in standard writing (meaning not the characters). I'm not sure what that would be called. Well I guess like how the word for "god" is "gami" or something like that. I saw one translator that said "sai" meant "son", but I don't know how reliable that was.
Thank you!!!
Thank you!!!

Re: Translation favor
I'm fairly certain the word is musuko, but there may be variants. Perhaps a few more people will have input.
Oh, it may also depend in which context you are looking for. Is there a sentence perhaps that you want to use it in? The word often varies depending on its usage.

Agreeing with Veph. I even checked my own japanese dictionaries...thou for a long time I though it was Musko because atleast I don't hear the second U pronounced that hard...might be just me.
I also checked out the Sai, but my dictionaries came out zero.
Besides that it's a name meaning of for example talented if as a name for boys I believe (this is just what google tells me) and makeup if it's for girls...but I believe this relates on how it's written because the kanji might be different for each meaning.

If it's for a pet name (I'm totally jumping to conclusions here
) I generally rely on google translate with "show romanization" on. It says son = Musuko.

Oh, now that we have a thread about Japanese...
Max called me gyanaku or something, and said it meant "bigger sister". Is it true, or was he being mean? :P
I'm onto you, Max! xD

Re: Translation favor
I was thinking of getting a white wolf because I love the movie Princess Mononoke, so I thought it'd be cool to get one and try to name it "Moro's Son" or "Son of Moro", since the pups in the movie are never actually given names. So when I saw "sai", I really liked the name Morosai (even if it didn't literally mean what I want it to mean, it still looks neat to me).
Edit: here's the website I had gotten this from. When I typed "sai" in "japanese to english", I got a bunch of different definitions including son/my son.
