If you're referring to Rocs, they're not dread ravens. They just share a similar model. Don't think Anzu would be thrilled to have us stealing his flock.pop wrote:I mean can we get DREAD RAVENS as the new exotic. We have new Dread Ravens in Legion.

Well, we can get Kaliris to be bird of preys, I think it's not far fetched anzu would welcome more to his brood.Junrei wrote:If you're referring to Rocs, they're not dread ravens. Quiv wrote:Yeah taming isn't a negative, like enslaving. Plus we use them as taxi's which I think would be much more demeaning than forming a deep bond/friendship with them. The same reasonable suspension of disbelief could easily apply to both and all be well. Back in WoD beta, I sent in a suggestion for a quest line with the Arakkoa where once you reached a certain rep with them (and trust level) they taught hunters how to tame Dream Ravens. Its much more interactive than a Tome that would drop, and is ripe with lore potential. They are gorgeous models, and would fit perfectly in a family with rocs etc.
Agreed! I love these ideas, they'd make such a fantastic species.Nachtwulf wrote:I think the big ones that all use the same rigging (the pterrorwings, rocs, dire ravens) should all go in a family called Dreadwings. Make 'em exotic since mana sabers aren't a new family anymore...and honestly they're pretty damn exotic looking.

Rexxar has a Dread Raven.
We have Dread Raven mounts.
That's all I'll say.

Eh true. Maybe we have to be exalted with the Arrakoa to get them to show Anzu has trust for us? Or some such.pop wrote:Well, we can get Kaliris to be bird of preys, I think it's not far fetched anzu would welcome more to his brood.Junrei wrote:If you're referring to Rocs, they're not dread ravens. The Kaliris aren't creations of Anzu. Rukhmar created them, and since she is dead she doesn't get a lot of say. Plus, she never seemed to really care in the first place.Junrei wrote:Well, we can get Kaliris to be bird of preys, I think it's not far fetched anzu would welcome more to his brood.pop wrote:

The issue with this is that it would require those whom aren't exalted with them to go back to Draenor and farm rep. Even though it would be a bit faster at 110, I'm sure there would be many Hunters that wouldn't like to have something like that gated by a grind rep.
Re: Legion pet lists - UPDATED 20160514
Does it matter? Anzu was a wreck till we helped him. Does he really get a say in who tames the bird-brained children he regards as his creation, who make their nests anywhere they like in Draneor and crap everywhere like every other animal?
They're really not very smart (aside from special ones) or holy. Playing Draenor on both factions, I never really got a feel that Dread Ravens were anything sacrosanct, but maybe the pulp fantasy books cover it more. I just wouldn't ever know if they did

Re: Legion pet lists - UPDATED 20160514
Yes, Anzu was a wreck when we met him, but that wasn't really his fault. Besides that, he wasn't the "leader" of the Dread Ravens when we when to Spires. It was his consort, Ka'alu, whom was very much around. And as seen during the quests to aid the Ravenspeakers (or whatever they are called), they asked for us to kill the Saberon that killed the nearby Dread Ravens and stole their eggs.
This imply that Dread Ravens are seen as sacred to the Arakkoa, at least to some degree. Those that we killed in places like Shadowmoon are a different case, simply because the Arakkoa didn't know we were killing them.

Honored would be best, I think. I'm sure that many wouldn't be happy having to quest through Spires, then having to grind til exalted.

I did but thats cause I love the area so much. XD Plus the bonuses were easy peasy....unless you aggroed half the saberon camp.Valnaaros wrote:Yeah, that is about what I got. Depends if you do the bonuses or not.

Yeah, those Saberon are killers...lol
Re: Legion pet lists - UPDATED 20160514
I figured by the time we finished questing in the Ka'alu area, that we'd know enough about Dread Ravens to be able to tame them, and it wouldn't require farming rep.

Re: Legion pet lists - UPDATED 20160514
We don't exactly learn much about them aside from their great importance to the Arakkoa. Maybe a rep requirement of Honored-Revered, then completing a hunter-only questline that teaches you about them and, as a reward, allows you to tame them

Re: Legion pet lists - UPDATED 20160514
I didn't mean literally read quest text about dread raven ecology. After working with and for the Ravenspeaker cult, a character would have experience with dread ravens and access to tutelage from experts. A rep requirement after an expansion is over is basically saying, "mail rep items from alt". Might as well not have a rep requirement at all.Valnaaros wrote:We don't exactly learn much about them aside from their great importance to the Arakkoa. A hunter only quest chain with ravenspeakers would work either way. I'm afraid unless we end up coming back to another continent on Draenor (or to the scattered parts of Outland that used to be Spires of Arak) that dread ravens are unlikely to be added in, at least in an interesting manner.

Sadly, that is probably the case. And I highly doubt that we'll be going back to Draenor anytime soon - at least in a large scale.Xota wrote:A hunter only quest chain with ravenspeakers would work either way.
