What was savage about WOD?
With this train wreck finally on its last days of life support now comes the burning question many have been wondering since this was released as a so called expansion.
What was so savage about WOD?
We were told we would be going to a strange and savage new land full of dangerous things so again what was so savage about this strange land was it sitting in our garrisons bored month after month when we had no new content worth playing or maybe it was the first patch with that Twitter and selfie cam thing I must say that was pretty savage...savagely lame or better yet the rep grind when we finally were told we would get flight after they told us no more flight ever in WOW.
So what really was so savage about WOW's Own Death could be it almost killed WOW a savage death.

They had more fur and bones on their outfits. That's about it.
Although it was pretty savage how many of my friends and guildies quit...

Spikes.
Spikes on everything.
Spikes make things more savage.
Everything should have spikes on it.

A bit of palindromic wisdom:
"Step on no pets!"
Casual player.. don't raid, don't PvP. Suffer from extreme altitis
I love pets - combat or non.

Commentary on the xpac aside, Draenor as a planet is by definition savage. The wild animals had a wild/fierce look, and even the plantlife wanted to kill you. Also look at the practices of some of the tribes. It fits most of the dictionary definition. The xpac was certainly a swing-and-a-miss in a lot of ways, but I think Draenor hit savage pretty well.

The amount of hate it got is pretty savage lol
Re: What was savage about WOD?
I thought the pale orcs to be somewhat savage but sadly we never got more to see from their story than the Nagrand questline around Oshu'gun.
I imagined them to be a real thread at the start of the Expansion....Oh well

I thought the storyline from Spires of Arak had a "metal hurlant"/"heavy metal" feel to it. WoD's gameplay wasn't savage, but Draenor was.

Perhaps the most savage thing about WoD was when it first launched and this is the screen you got every day when you got home from work...

What was truly savage was waiting in line to get in for about an hours play before boredom set in.

Re: What was savage about WOD?
I think "savage" described the actual world of Draenor pretty well. The wild life and zones were very nicely created and designed. Of course, sitting in one's garrison without any real reason to venture out into the world certainly mean that all of the art team's hard work went to waste for the most part. Garrisons were just a horrid design for a MMORPG.....Here's hoping that Class Order Halls just don't turn out to be Garrisons 2.0
