Old tricky tames with new toolkit?
So, I've been wondering how the old trick tames would work now that we have a very different set of tools to work with. At max level, the ones that merely hit like a truck aren't so much a problem, I'd guess. But what about ones that have to be reduced in health, or some other gimmick? And what about people leveling up who want to get that pet at level? Say someone is leveling a BM hunter and wants Ban'thalos as soon as they're the right level. But there's no more freezing trap. So how would that work? There was a way around Portent's tricks once hunter's mark was gone, so there must be a way around obstacles like that. At least I'd hope so. Thoughts?

idk about the other things, but if u use soft foam sword it reduces a low levels enemy to practically nothing so you can tame

For tames like Glimmer, Portent, etc (including the spirit porcupines), Binding shot keeps them immobilized.
Regarding not killing the tames on accident;
After returning to WoW from a 4 year vacation, I did my fair share of 'oops' kills while trying to tame.
I found that removing the gear and then using skills with set damage based on that stats works very well.
For example: Degu has 114,000 HP. I removed all my gear until my A Murder of Crows did less than kill HP.
/castsequence A Murder of Crows, Aspect of the Turtle, Tame Beast
Worked like a charm last night, tamed all three porcupines.
