It might be the falcosaurs? Or are they still considered raptors?

Re: "Hints of a new Family Revealed at Blizzcon"?
Would love to see a 'dinosaur' family added. It could add in tameable pterrodax, skyscreamers, dimetrodons, threshadons, maybe even falcosoars, as well as merging with raptors, devilsaurs and dire horns.. Although maybe not dire horns because it would nullify the dinomancer tome. (????)
I only took the last screenshot the others are from wowhead.
You might wonder how a threshadon would be a pet. Well, it's blizzard, I'm sure they would come up with some thing if they decided to make it tameable, lol.
It's far fetched, I know. but I love dinosaurs and would like them to get more love in WoW.

Druid forms are tameable! Except, so far, the NEW models, and bear form. You could tame identical cheetahs, stags, base flight forms, even a cat form albeit in red. It's nothing new or unusual.

Re: "Hints of a new Family Revealed at Blizzcon"?
Interesting! Not just pet additions to existing families, but a whole new one!
Hmnn... I watched most of WoW-related BlizzCon stuff that was on the panels, but don't remember anything of the sort.
Either I'm blind or it was on one of the not-streamed panels (would fit with "scouring the Internet carefully"), both cases possible, first even more so

Re: "Hints of a new Family Revealed at Blizzcon"?
I rewatched the panels last night, and didn't find anything interesting, sadly.
But I think you guys might be on the right track. When we saw the class mounts, that might be the hint? Because there there was the common theme of "hybrid" critters, like the Hunter mount and the Priest mount. Combined with the accidentally tameable hippogryph from beta, the owlcats...
I think you guys may be right, and that maybe the hinted New family is one that contains these "hybrid" creatures.
That would be an awesome surprise lol

Re: "Hints of a new Family Revealed at Blizzcon"?
I rewatched a lot of footage too, and slowly pause-advanced through some battle stuff like Brawler's Guild and battle grounds. It was hard to pick everything going on in there as it was a mess of players in some cases, but I didn't pick any hunters using new pets either, unless a hunter had tamed one of those 1001 penguins
The "very carefully around the internet" quote might also refer to something that was in an untelevised panel but may have been posted (video or screenshots) by someone. Like one of the art panels or something. If so I haven't found it yet :/
Of course it could well just be one of the mounts and there's nothing else to see :/

I was actually just thinking that on my drive home from work. Which makes me realize I need to double check WoWhead for sure, as they had a pretty strong presence officially there (what with having their own pins and everything! lol), so perhaps there might be a secret held off somewhere in the belly of WoWhead.Wain wrote: The "very carefully around the internet" quote might also refer to something that was in an untelevised panel but may have been posted (video or screenshots) by someone. The other thing I was wondering is if one of the costumes might be the clue. I know whenever something brand new is announced, there's always someone still in costume for it. I was at Blizzcon when Overwatch was first revealed, and already there was a Tracer and Widowmaker running around the halls. I'm not positive, but I feel like an everyday player wouldn't have had the time to find out about Overwatch and make a Tracer costume unless Blizz hired them or something.
So maybe I need to dig through photos of Blizzcon and see if there's a costume hint?
Gosh I know this could all just be a wild goose chase, but I'm so enjoying the theories lol
Edit:
Well after reviewing all the official contest entries, unless we're getting Druid cats or dragons as a new family, I don't think there's a hint there XDD But there was a faerie dragon costume!
I mean totally unlikely but I would totally tame a faerie dragon if I could.

The Hunter class mount is a Wyver, so there is a possibility that all wyver will become tameable.

Mythical Beasts (wyverns, griffens, hippogrifs) in general would be nice, I mean they are all labeled as Beasts after all.evil950510 wrote:The Hunter class mount is a Wyver, so there is a possibility that all wyver will become tameable.
Re: "Hints of a new Family Revealed at Blizzcon"?
My theory is that the new family isn't available to tame, but it would be a spell instead. Unlike other beasts, it would not take a stable spot but rather would always be in our spellbook.

Re: "Hints of a new Family Revealed at Blizzcon"?
The reason I don't think that's the case Pop is Muffinus already tweeted about a new family.
I've spent way too much of my work day today on this riddle. Read the WoW Q&A panel and other then the single unicorn question nothing else had anything to do with hunter pets.
Like others I've too feel it's something to do with hybrids OR my tiny little theory is aquatic tames.
The other side of me fears it's a wild goose chase

If it had any family ability, I'd be pleasantly surprised. There's about 22 families with no abilities currently.
Re: "Hints of a new Family Revealed at Blizzcon"?
Yeah I didn't think of it at the time but we should have bulk requested that as a Q&A question for Blizzcon.Xota wrote:If it had any family ability, I'd be pleasantly surprised. There's about 22 families with no abilities currently.

Thank you, Wain! I added in the specific number of families (36) to hopefully emphasize how widespread a problem this is. :/Wain wrote:Yeah I didn't think of it at the time but we should have bulk requested that as a Q&A question for Blizzcon.Xota wrote:If it had any family ability, I'd be pleasantly surprised. (Also I miss Ursa. T_T )
...and I just realized that all three of the new families in Legion have no family ability. *points that out as well*
