Re: Pokemon!
More info came out! Namely 2 new abilities, 2 new items, a new move and a little detail on Dynamax Pokemon
1: Ability: Neutralizing Gas. Galarian Weezing's ability. Negates the abilities of all other pokemon on the field. Seems to just be a form of Mold Breaker that effects everyone, not just who the pokemon with the ability is attacking. So, for example...if you had a team of Galar Weezing and Arcanine on your field, and you opponent had Heatran as one of their pokemon...your Arcanine will be able to hit that Heatran with Fire moves without worrying about Flash Fire thanks to Weezing. On the other side of the coin though, if your Arcanine has Flash Fire, the Heatran can use Fire moves on Arcanine safely as well.
2: Ability: Mirror Armor. This Corviknight hidden ability reflects Stat lowering effects back to the user.
3: Attack: Breaking Swipe: Multi-target move that lowers the Attack of all hit by it.
4: Item: Room Service: Holder has their Speed reduced while Trick Room is active.
5: Eject Pack: Holder automatically switches out if their stats are lowered, even if its self-inflicted.
6: Dynamax Pokemon can't be flinched. Thus, you can't waste their 3 Dynamax turns with moves like Fake Out.

Re: Pokemon!
Been a while!
Here is news:
New pokemon since last news dump:
Cramorant: Water/Flying type bird. Has an ability called Gulp Missile. Gulp Missile makes it so Cramorant comes back with a fish whenever he uses Surf or Dive. While holding the fish, if he takes damage, he'll fire the fish at the opponent and deal damage.
Polteageist: Pure Ghost type ghost babby living in a teapot.
Sirfetch'd: pure Fighting type Galarian evolution for Farfetch'd. Has a signature move: Meteor Assault...a fighting type Hyper Beam.
Galarian Ponyta
Only recently revealed in a 24 hour livestream. Nothing known.
Alcremie has over 20 different variations, working in a similar vein to the different flower forms of Flabebe or the spot patterns of Spinda.

Re: Pokemon!
That ponyta looks like it might be a fairy type, which would be interesting. I might finally get a fairy type I can like lol.

There was also a tease that a Galar rapidash exists too as a Rapidash's battle cry was heard after the feed cut out.

Re: Pokemon!
Info on Galar Ponyta came out!
It is a pure Psychic type.
It also has a brand new ability: Pastel Veil. This ability makes it and its allies immune to poison. If it switches out to a Poisoned ally, the poison will be cured.
It is exclusive to Pokemon Shield.

MORE NEWS!
New Gigantamax Pokemon forms revealed!
1: Gigantamax Charizard
His Fire type moves become G-Max Wildfire: A powerful fire type move that also adds a damage over time effect on all non-fire type opponents that lasts four turns.
2: Gigantamax Butterfree
Her Bug type moves become G-Max Befuddle. This move does damage and either poisons, paralyzes, or sleeps all opponents.
3: Gigantamax Pikachu
His Electric moves become G-Max Volt Crash. This move damages and paralyzes all opponents. The trailer showed it working on a Mudsdale.
Note: You will need save data for Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu to get Gigantachu.
4: Gigantamax Eevee
Her Normal moves become G-Max Cuddle. This damages and if the foe is opposite gendered, they'll have the Attract effect applied.
Note: You will need Let's Go Eevee save data to unlock Gigantavee
5: Gigantamax Meowth
His normal moves become G-Max Gold Rush. This move confuses all foes and has the same effect as Pay Day.
Note: This Meowth is the traditional 'early purchase' launch event of SwSh

Re: Pokemon!
According to a Game Informer interview:
SwSh will feature Auto-Save. This feature can be turned off so you can save manually (so you can still save before a legendary)
There will be no Exp Share item. Instead its just a baked-in feature. No word on turning it off.
There'll be ways to get competitive pokemon easier or something. This was vague. (there was recent confirmation that pokemon in the Wild Area can have a yellow aura, which gives them some perfect IV's and free Egg moves)

Re: Pokemon!
New item: PC Link Box. Allows remote access to your pc any time any where. There are restrictions.
It seems tutorials are skippable. Like if someone asks 'Do you understand type matchups?' and you say 'Yes', they won't tell you anyway. The actual tutorial part of the game is much much shorter now too.
There will be no direct communication between SwSh and Pokemon Go...communication between the two games is purely through transferring pokemon from Go to Pokemon Home to SwSh (provided the pokemon is available in SwSh ofc)

NEW NEWS!
Every pokemon center now comes with a counter where you can rename pokemon, delete moves, and relearn moves. The Move Relearner is FREE of charge as well...no more Heart Scale pricetag.
Also the slow reveal of info for these games is because they want surprises. So we're not gonna see practically the whole set of new pokemon before launch unless leakers do their thing.

Re: Pokemon!
Pokemon news! Some QoL changes especially for Competitive players!
1: Confirmation on the toggleable Autosave feature
2: Box feature confirmed. You can store and withdraw pokemon anywhere! No more long trips to the pokemon center to use the pc. however, it can't be used in certain areas, such as Gyms.
3: Mints: THIS item is nice! Got a good pokemon with a bad nature? Slap it with one of these noms and while its nature won't change, the Mint will change the stat effects. There's 1 Mint for every possible Nature. If you got an Adamant Alakazam and a Modest Mint...use the Mint on it! It'll still be Adamant but the stats will be as if it was Modest. No more breeding for the right nature!
4: EV Supplement items: Those Proteins, Calciums, Irons etc? Before, you couldn't use them past 100 ev's in a single stat.....now? YOU CAN MAX OUT A STAT'S EV WITH JUST THE SUPPLEMENT! No more slaughtering the same pokemon en masse to max out a stat!
5: If two pokemon of the same species are in the daycare together, and one has 3 or less moves in its moveset...you can pass Egg moves known by one to the pokemon with fewer moves! No breeding needed!
6: Exp Candies! Feed these to a pokemon to get a fixed amount of Exp. XL gives 30,000 for example. Easier levelling!

Re: Pokemon!
The following Shiny Locks are in place:
Starters. YOU CAN'T START YOUR JOURNEY WITH A SHINY STARTER! You can BREED for one though!
Gigantamax Eevee, Pikachu and Meowth. No shinies for them.
Zacian, Zamazenta, Eternatus. This is an obvious one.
In the Wild Area, pokemon can be VERY VERY high in level (you can bump into lvl 50 pokemon before your first badge even!)...these pokemon can't be caught until you have enough badges. Until that time, these pokemon are shiny locked. The lock will lift when you can catch em.

Re: Pokemon!
Dynamax and Gigantamax info:
Dynamax, as we know, makes any pokemon grow to kaiju size. This can only be done in specific areas (Gyms, Max Raids, Online battles possibly others). Your pokemon gets an HP increase based on its Dynamax level (which you can see on page 2 of that pokemon's status screen). To raise Dynamax Level, feed it Dynamax Candy (won from raids). 1 candy per level. At lvl 10, your hp doubles in Dynamax form.
While Dynamaxxed, your moves become Max moves based on the type your moves are (Normal becomes Max Strike, Bug becomes Max Flutterby etc). Non-attack moves become Max Guard, the only form of Protect that fully blocks Max Move damage. Its sorta like Z-moves but effects the entire moveset. Dynamax is triggered by selecting the extra 'Dynamax' option when choosing your attack. You can then choose an attack for that turn.
Dynamax lasts 3 turns and can only be used once per battle. All pokemon can Dynamax and there's no Held Item requirement.
Gigantamax is a variation of Dynamax where the pokemon transforms alongside getting its giant size. Only a handful of pokemon can use this feature.
Gigantamax works mechanically the same as Dynamax, and is activated the same way. It too has no item requirement, and is effected by Dynamax level. So what's the difference other than the appearance change?
Each Gigantamax pokemon has its own signature G-Max move that has more desirable secondary effects than what regular Max Moves give you. Obtaining them is also different.
So basically...you can't just grab any old Drednaw and expect it to Gigantamax. Nope....you gotta earn it. And by 'earn it', I mean you need to defeat a drednaw in a Max raid in which it is already in its Gigantamax form. Then you need to successfully capture it (harder than usual Max Raid mons). If caught, that Drednaw from the raid can access its Gigantamax form. The vast majority of Gigantamax pokemon are obtained this way.
There are 4 exceptions: Charizard, while available in raids, is also obtained as a gift in the post-game....Pikachu, Eevee and Meowth are event exclusive.
And there you go!

Re: Pokemon!
News: From now until Jan 5th, you can now capture Gigantamax Snorlax in Max Raid battles! Take the chance to get one now while you can!
Tips for gigantamax pokemon:
1: BE THE RAID HOST! Host gets increased capture odds.
2: Use Dusk Balls, or Repeat Balls. Dusk if you haven't caught a Snorlax yet, Repeat if you have. These are the strongest pokeballs to use not named Master Ball (Repeat is the stronger of the two.) If the pokemon is Bug or Flying type, you can use Net Balls instead, which have the same strength as Repeat Balls.
3: If you are the host, save before encountering! That way if you didn't catch it, you can try again!
