Mechanical Pets in Shadowlands

Okay, out of curiosity...what are these little guys supposed to be fed? I tried a Handful of Laestrite Bolts, and was told that my mechanical sheep "didn't like that food." So what am I supposed to feed them?

Apparently, it’s not just mechanicals, but shadowlands meats, like tenebrous ribs and phantasmal haunches for example, can be fed to all pets, strange right, even if meat is not in their diet, they’ll eat it, i don’t know if it’s a bug, or if it’s intended that the creatures eat SL meats since it’s rather from the spirit realm so It doesn’t matter, in BFA I also tried finding a mechanical bit the pets would like, but nothing
