I figured this merits its own post:

You can tame Exotic pets as Survival/Marksman, but you can't use them - so they just disappear into your Call Pet Menu. Perhaps a sign they're planning on Relaxing Exotics? Or maybe just so people don't have to change specs to tame. Either way, hopefully it's intended.

EDIT: Okay, combed the entire zone as fine-toothed as I could. Could not find the tameable ice bear Wain found, but it's possible it's a long respawn or someone just killed it when I ran through. Lots of tameable beasts with old models, I mentioned a few of them in the last post. But for the most part, I think Wain found everything, lol.

That said, there is one mob of the Dragon Frogs that is classified as a Beast - however it is not tameable.

Image

Keep in mind a lot of the mobs have the wrong classification - Yetis are Beasts, there's a rare Tuskarr that's Mechanical, etc. So a lot of the Dragonkin beasts may be mis-tagged.

those rabbit ears!! I'm rooting for it to be tameable, seems too detailed to just be a battle pet.

I would love for the new rabbit to be a mount as well, tbh.

I love this skin. Too many tigers, not enough other big cats. Not sure I'll like the fins, but if only the model viewer actually worked on Wowhead so I could make a better judgement.

EDIT: The model viewer works now. Yeah, those fins are awkward, but easily overlooked. God the new cats are so good.

I looked on wowhead at all of the beasts, I like the variety, armored, non armored, new creatures that haven’t existed in wow and want for a pet, ehm! Ducks! I love the new cat models, but the only flaw is the Larion skeleton, which make the running animation super stiff and cartoonish, and lastly, make them all tameable, give me my lava mammoth with a side of phoenix

This and the new dog are my favs. The primal Rhino is an incredible model, but it's so huge based on Wain's screenshots, it's not something I'd use daily.

But.. what I really want is the lionfish to be tameable.

I hope armoredons will soon move to scalehides to pair with the thunder lizards, I definitely want a tallstrider, a lava mammoth, and most of all, I hope ducks will be carrion birds like in real life, I want ducks more than any bird added in this expansion

Apparently, after looking at wowhead on the tameable beasts of dragonflight, I found out that the new tallstrider have three horn variants pictured below, the bakar hounds can have spikes on their mane or none, same goes for the mammoth tusk and facial tusk variants, this expansion has loads of looks

Draenor Talbuks 2.0 on steroids. Lots of choices is a great thing, but poor Wain's gonna be busy once he needs to add all of those to the site. It looks like a lot of neat critters are already flagged tameable now;

- Blue Tarantula with Black Markings
- Iridescent Ruby Red Tarantula
- Magma Mammoths in multiple colors and with two different tusk styles
- Mount Magma Mammoth that is probably too high level since it's in a dungeon
- Black and Yellow Phoenix (I vote we call it "Sulfur Phoenix" on the site since it fits the colors)
- A whole slew of tamable salamanders that are classified as lizards. Looks like every datamined skin.
- Crackling Thunder Lizard, which is absolutely awesome in the model viewer. Makes me want one now.
- Male Peacock, which looks really good
- White Kirin, a kirin classified as a stag

There's also these interesting beasts;
- Time-Lost Primal Drake, a clever play on words. Not tamable (yet?)
- Bloodgullet, a spirit beast armoredon.
- Lava Mammoth Tentacle, implying that lava mammoths might not be normal tames
- Tiger Loa, which is almost certain to be mislabeled since it's flagged tameable

I expect to see lava mammoths be in raid areas. Or Dungeon bosses. Don't see them being normal tames. Kek timelost primal drakes model is currently a duck. I love it.

It's not that it's currently a duck; "Drake" is the term for a male duck, much like "Bull" is used for many males in different species other than cows. "Druck" is like calling a male human "manman" (which had me laughing when I wrote that).

This is the first expansion where all the new models I see, I want, they’re all super realistic, amazing creativity put into some of the creatures, and we get a billion of dragonlike beasts, praying the wyrms will be tameable

Hello, I saw a video of a player playing on alpha flying over a beach where there was a beached killer whale. By comparing with the current killers whales in WoW game, we can see that they have been updated graphically.
A good thing for druids who use killer whale form. ;)

Nice find, I hope they’ll update the orca and other beasts that need updating, old pixelated creatures don’t satisfy me like when they were still new

The new turtle model looks really lovely in the game!

Also, I hadn't realised that 3/4 pics I took with their mouths gaping. They really aren't stuck that way 🤣
