One of those pets that appears as a patch on the ground.
It's a Mischievous Stagnose in one of the "sniffenseek" digs. In the instance it burrows around the place as a dust patch, but when you force it to emerge it appears as a normal rhinoceros beetle. You can tame it when it's up, but as a pet it reverts to the burrowed form.
It'll almost certainly be made untameable, since it will cause issues in PvP, and maybe other situations.

There was also an invisible ("burrowing") pet in the Shadowlands beta: the Enormous Gyreworm from Deepholm. It looked like a patch of fire when you used Bestial Wrath.
It's either part of a quest that we've not seen yet, or it's unimplemented. I do semi-regular flyby visits to the caverns, but I don't quest on PTR. Haven't seen the gold fella at all since it first popped up on the database. Wouldn't be the first time something was left out, but that gold color being unimplemented would be a crime.
I openly admit to finding bugs and exploits so they can be reported asap and get fixed. You might have seen some of the fun hunter pet side effects posted here in the past.
I will never share how to perform exploits. The only ones who know are those I personally trust to help get things fixed.

I also completed multiple quests and attended that event in sulfur fields, I spotted a bunch of untameable creatures, but found nothing, also nothing new from the quests, the untameable skins I spotted were Black deepflayers, possibly brown ones too if I remember correctly, And the rest of the creatures are used skins

Mischievous Stagnose is not tameable on live. Seems they didn't even wanna try fixing it lol

Got myself a cute fluorescent white rock mouse and it's absolutely adorable <3 The biggest let down so far must be that we can't and possibly never will tame these huge deepstriders. I would love to have one.
Triggers me almost as much as the non tameable brutosaur from BFA.
These are the same people who gave us goofy fen striders and giraffes, if we can have those pets we can have deepstriders, such a shame. Same goes with deepflayers, i thought they were the coolest beasts added, but I hate looking at them since they’re not going to be tameable for a while, but I’m enjoying my two shalewings so far, especially the magma one

Upon seeing the two mice I'd tamed on Tuesday, my raid leader declared that my main hunter is never allowed to use any other pets, ever.
They are the cutest new pet, even though I tamed one and added it to my stable collection, I don’t see myself using it anytime soon, since I don’t do max lvl PvP, when I try they have tons more health than me and ten times stronger
