Specialization Changing IS (potentially) BACK IN 11.1 BABY
https://www.wowhead.com/news/patch-11-1 ... sto-355134
- Specializations for hunter pets can now be changed in the stable via a dropdown menu.
This is huge. I forgive every bad decision on this list if this goes live.

Re: Specialization Changing IS (potentially) BACK IN 11.1 BABY
I have my fingers crossed! I saw that they specifically mention the new Marksmanship Eagle as being able to choose specs, but putting it in a general update note like above feels like it would be applicable to more than just one spec I hope?
Also I don't play MM myself but that rework seems interesting with the new permanent Eagle companion. I'm curious what happens to MM hunters that have pets in their stable? Will their eagle be customizable at all?

My fingers are also crossed that this will be true. I will test the 11.1 ptr the minute it happens, if the feature is not on the first build, I can wait more

This and BM Hunter can choose a One Pet node, which makes me so HAPPY.

Also really glad for this!!! Sometimes I enjoy having a pair of themed pets but overall, as much as I'm a Beast Mastery hunter for life, I've never been terribly keen on having an entire army of pets for day to day play, and even two feels crowded at times, I'm happier focusing on one so this is perfect!Bunny._.Harvestman wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 9:15 pm This and BM Hunter can choose a One Pet node, which makes me so HAPPY.

Agreed. I love being a Frostwolf Orc Hunter with a thousand frost wolves, but sometimes I just want to be a dwarven mountaineer with a single bear pet, you know?Vephriel wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 9:36 pmAlso really glad for this!!! OMG I'm just so happy that my mech rocket chickens and other mech pets, and the mice pets from Zaralek Caverns have become more viable for solo pve content T T.
Re: Specialization Changing IS (potentially) BACK IN 11.1 BABY
At the cost of 1 of our specs losing the ability to use pets at all. >_>

I see marksman changes opinions are mixed, since this is potentially life changing in wow, which non-ferocity pet will you end up using in all content, if you asked me the same question, I would probably use rodents, hounds, and birds of prey. These families have the coolest looks out of any family
Re: Specialization Changing IS (potentially) BACK IN 11.1 BABY
I love that Blizzard finally has the technology to do this. Again. LOL!
This opening up so many pet families to be viable is great! Mechanicals being viable for PVE! Really just ALL the Cunning pets! They're finally coming out of the Stable for more than just Battlegrounds and Arena!

Absolutely birds of prey, I want those giant ravens. Closest i can get to the Pterodactyls without being BM. Death/dread Rocs and dread ravens.worgpower wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 2:44 am I see marksman changes opinions are mixed, since this is potentially life changing in wow, which non-ferocity pet will you end up using in all content, if you asked me the same question, I would probably use rodents, hounds, and birds of prey. I can also pull my raptor out of storage.

I dunno. The specialization thing is listed under UI. I don't want to be Debbie Downer, but to me it looks more like the change will let you can filter the view in the stable by pet type. I get the impression it just means you can use a pull-down to view only one pet type, instead of the current method of clicking the arrow thingy to collapse Cunning so you can see the Ferocity pets without scrolling down.

o lol if that is the case Im going to be super mad. We can already filter the specialization via text, IDC about a drop down menu to filter my pet.Boven wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 12:27 pm I dunno. Re: Specialization Changing IS (potentially) BACK IN 11.1 BABY
I’m positive there’s already filters for that, pets can already have their order rearranged based on spec, family, and name, but most of us keep the order on spec, plus the drop down is pretty convenient. Also it did specify “Specializations for hunter pets”. I hope it will be the case, we don’t know for sure, there could also possibly be changes to hunter pet specs too, but who knows, it’s still very earlyBoven wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 12:27 pm I dunno.
