Yeah. This is why we need a developer who's actively hanging out with the hunter community; so we can show support for fun things like the rat. Oh well, at least the Undermine rats aren't being taken from us a patch later like a previous beloved critter.

It's crap. I got it on the PTR two days ago and I'd already told a friend who likes mice. Now I'll have to figure out how to tell her that Blizz has broken it.

It's probably that things like Visions and delves aren't meant to have any tameable creatures, but I dunno for sure. Even regular dungeons have very few when they're new.

The old rat is pretty low quality for a pet, but it could easily have been given the new model if it was going to be left tameable, so I think maybe they really don't want tameables in there.

That's true, but counter argument; The original Vision of Stormwind had Sewer Beastling as a bonus tameable in an out of the way location, therefore the rat in a random trash pile being tameable was justified :P

It's easy to forget about the poor sewer beastling. Fella's trapped in a (previously) irrelevant piece of unloved content, and it wasn't even a guaranteed spawn (I think?), so forgetting it exists isn't that unusual. Though, the rat is just another case of "fun detected", because it was entirely harmless and in no way a problem. It wasn't too small, it wasn't impossible to click, and we already have pets that are WAY harder to click on because they're so tine (the frog, the "worm" slugs, etc). It's a mystery why the dev team is so hit and miss when it comes to having a fun thing hidden away from time to time. I believe you mentioned in the past that it's up to the discretion of whatever dev happens to be in charge at the time, but it's still disappointing. We just need one dev who likes to have fun to stick around and enable some flags every so often :(.

Oh well. At least we still have the flying eels and sea slugs. Those haven't been forcibly model swapped or "fixed" at least, despite being no different than glitch/unintended tames. Here's hoping 11.2 lets us have some silly things that break the mold, whenever that PTR happens lol.

Just out of curiosity, did it retain the name in English? It doesn't in Spanish, I think due to the number of characters in the NPC -> "Cría de bestia de cloaca".

Patch dropped and it's as empty and lame as we all expected, but I think I found a bug.

I tamed the BLACK variant of the Mourning Warlynx yesterday. I am 100% positive because I know the difference between black fur and white fur. The contrast alone was memorable, so I know I'm not misremembering. I logged in just now, and my Mourning Warlynx was changed to white fur. Kind of odd, because it's not a color changer; I've not been able to call it out in its original black color. I did want the white one originally, so I tamed the only one I saw (black) in order to get it to respawn, but I ABSOLUTELY did not tame the white one yesterday. Can anyone else confirm this thing changed colors on them?

Now that is strange! I haven't tamed one yet but I'll do so now, simply so I can test that out.

I've tamed the Mourning Lynx twice now, seen it three times and every time, it's been white.

Edit: Finally saw a black one spawn and tamed it. Logged out, then back in again, and he still had black fur.

Can confirm, tried to tame the BLACK warlynx but when the tame succeeded he turned white. I wanted the black because of the high contrast and was really startled to see that happen!

Edit - I did try to dismiss and resummon him and his fur stayed white. It was still white when I logged back in later, so I can't help but wonder if this is an issue with the black lynx? I also tamed the white and brown, neither had an issue staying the proper color. They're currently doing maintenance so it may be fixed when realms are online later.

I tamed a black lynx and it stayed black, so I don't think it is necessarily an issue with the black lynx or consistently so.

Escaped Lynxes have returned!

Thanks to the area devs for restoring them so quickly after they vanished in 11.1.5.

That's great! Did they add the remaining unused variants? Did they also add back the Voidstalkers?

The only mobs I have seen of the escaped lynxes are brown and black, nothing new. I killed a few and the same two colors spawned back. Also the voidstalkers are still missing (found a dead one tho...).

I’m not a tamer of the feral sharpclaws, but do they still exist in their area, if not and if they don’t return the red color will be gone

Glad to see the Escaped Lynxes are back. That's such a pleasant surprise for hunters, even if they're not the most outstanding or stylish pets. Now we wait and pray the warp stalker makes its very much deserved comeback.

@worg
I'm fairly certain those still exist. They just temporarily phase out during the Nightfall waste of ti- I mean event. At least I'm fairly certain those are Feral Sharpclaws.

Yes, they still exist. Most of them phase out when the Nightfall Event is happening, though some can be found on the very far outskirts.
