Re: possible Strider Clutchmother replacement sighted
Oh awesome. My draenei huntress (I was going to say 'little draenei huntress' but she hit 63 yesterday, so, not so small) has the clutchmother and I've been nervous about releasing her just in case. Thanks!

I'll still keep Boudica (My Clutchmother on my NE Hunter) but it's nice to see her skin remain intact if less fun to try and track down.
My main's a Druid so I of course love critters. That counts for something right? Right?

Re: possible Strider Clutchmother replacement sighted
Great, had her tamed already with my Darksparrow
) so I be save for sure

Re: possible Strider Clutchmother replacement sighted
I dropped Gondria to pick up Clutchmother on Live servers several weeks ago...
Now I can safely drop the Clutchmother (if I decide to) and get the blue scorpion that is MIA for now, and then pick up the skin again after I get more stable slots.
I think if you at least tamed a rare pet, and then needed to drop it to get a new pet (that may be vanishing)... then you should be able to say "Yeah, this is the Clutchmother skin... I tamed her before the Cataclysm" ..and technically not be lying because you really did tame the real thing before Cataclysm.
Stories to tell... stories to be told.

I'm extremely happy to see the skin was saved. But at the same time ........... it's not the same. I know I know. I sound like one of those complainers!

By "complainers" do you mean the people who wanted the <insert rare pet skin here> to be out of the game so you would be one of the few who has it in the new expansion?zedxrgal wrote:I'm extremely happy to see the skin was saved. I am all for uniqueness, but I am also for hunters playing the game with whichever pet they want to play it with... Blizzard should make every pet in the game tameable again IF it was tameable for any amount of time in the past, IMO.
Re: possible Strider Clutchmother replacement sighted
I think people should be more cautious about what pets you get rid of, and what you tame at this point. There is still a long way to go until Cata comes out and there will be more news about things disappearing and things relocating. Reacting to something as dynamic as the beta can bite you if you give up a rare skin now just to find out that missing rare has turned into an entire colony somewhere else. Your refugee is now common and that rare is still rare.
I'm certain that cata will see another November release just like every other WoW expansion, with the 4.0 upheaval happening in October. So if you wait for news to stabalize in September, when they are adjusting numbers and finishing the pet sweep, you'll have a better idea of what to need to grab before the patch and not be banging your head over something that you did in the early summer.

Yeah Undra, you're absolutely right. I'd say at this time, if you've got a pet you'd have to let go to get one that *might* become extinct as of this beta build, don't abandon it. On the other hand, I doubt they'd change the clutchmother model tallstriders in Swamp now that they put them in... but yeah, you never know.

I kinda had a sneaky suspicion Blizz wouldn't retire a skin altogether - after all, they've put the effort into creating the skin to begin with, and I can't think of a single mob skin that's been removed 100% from the game (barring the early, broken models that were really upgraded, not removed).
GEZZARAK. SHE GOT TOTALLY REMOVED.
Also, the hive queen.

Re: possible Strider Clutchmother replacement sighted
I honestly don't think they ever intended Gezz's skin to be tameable when they made it. I mean yeah, clearly they might now (and I hope it'll be in-game somewhere in Cata) but I think it was too broken and never really intended to be a pet and that's why they removed it.
Who knows about Hive Queen? She shares model with a raid boss and doesn't really shrink much so... perhaps it's the same, they didn't mean for her to be tameable? Only Blizz knows. Either way, as Kalli said, she'll be tameable in Cata, so we can rejoice.

Re: possible Strider Clutchmother replacement sighted
Speaking of Gez... I was actually going to start the chain (in the beta) to get it to spawn to make sure she is still untameable, but I had to do some running around today and was unable to really do anything.
I encourage anyone with a premade (or a high level that never did the quest) character to go test to make sure Blizzard isn't playing games with us...
...you know... see if it is still untameable...

In case it helps, that summon is repeatable, as is the quest it's part of, actually. Just gather the timelost scrolls and summon away. I know, having ground Shatari (sp?) Skyguard rep!
