I'd feel that way about any pet - whatever you tamed it should stay the way it is - regardless of what they do to the mob 3 4 5 years down the road .

So I hope that parts a bug; even if they are now mastiffs for SM and Caty - those that are already tamed should stay what the people wanted to begin with.

Grunter is still tameable but the fact is that not everyone wants their red hyena they love and have loved for forever to turn into a dog just because... I do think its unfair to just do it.... I dont want my Faust to turn..

I totally understand you Nevar, but we can't have it both ways. I'm fairly certain Blizz won't transform some pets (Harkaa and Soriid for example) and not others. Personally I hope the pets don't transform, even if it means nobody will have those awesome new Silithid skins.

(How hypocritical does that sounds when thinking about how much I want the sithilids to keep their change)

Heh. That would be ideal, wouldn't it? But that's why I'd prefer to not have models change like that. Sure, some people have run out and tamed Grunter or Soriid now in the hope of having one of these new models... but most of the people whose pets would change have had them much longer for the model they are now. If it's one or the other, then I think it'd be more damaging to have them change.

it would be perfect if they just changed the npc models and left the allready tamed ones as the old skin. That would work with the bugs aswell.

Thats not true as they new model might be tameable come cata anyway. What people have been doing so fair with the bugs is well a bug.

I can see the reason for the change. I mean, the Scarlets were always supposed to have dogs, just the model was never in. So I can understand now that they have dogs, putting them in.

Still, I think it's a horrible shame for the people who love their red hyenas. I wish there was a more happy medium.

It does make better sense for the Scarlets to have proper dogs instead of hyenas (hyenas aren't even dogs). I think this would be the best compromise:

Make the mastiff-style Scarlet Tracking Hound an entirely new npc, with a new NPC number and everything. Let the old hyena-style Scarlet Tracking Hounds that are already tamed stay the same, retire that style, then add in a new variety of common red hyena somewhere.

I really hope they do that Ket Shi as I'd hate to lose my red hyena. Bad enough that Snort is no longer found, Steelsnap drowned etc. Yes I know those two have skins out there but it's not the same.

I just got my mastiff from SM! OMG I'm sooooo excited to have a mastiff. I was worried it was going to be worgen only on the alliance side cuz they're in Guilnaes. I love mastiffs IRL soooooo much!

I agree, the mastiff does seem to fit the original intent for the Scarlets much better. Lore wise and game wise, it's good.

Pet wise...I don't want my beautiful red hyena to turn into a mastiff! I thought it was cool that they added a new skin, and I might try it on a different hunter, but a mastiff doesn't fit Silinrul at all!
