To my sadness, it isn't exist as a model or isn't made by me, rather in Model Viewer. It is an OBJECT, it's in the files of the silithid hive models. So yes.. no beast with this model 'YET'.The Insect Man wrote:Hold on - Qraljar - did you create the very nice dragonfly model, or does it exist as a model in the game files (rather than just as set dressing as the firefly lights in Silithid tunnels)? I'd take one like a shot something like that ends up in the game.

I agree - IRL I think dragonflies are awesome. They get about the size of hummingbirds where I live... but I digress.Teigan wrote:I tried to restrain my geekiness, but I can't. Not a dragonfly! Closest analog in RL would be a beetle, perhaps a rove beetle. It has wing cases (which are modified wings) and one pair of membranous wings. A dragonfly would have two pairs of membranous wings. There. I feel better now.
That said, very cool looking.
I do like the model presented here, and I'm sure I'd tame it on one of my hunters mainly because I love bug pets for some reason... but that being said I'd also like the door held open for at least the possibility of Blizz making a "real" dragonfly at some point down the road e.g. something with 4 wings... and maybe a thinner, more chitinous tail... dragonfly tails should be more of a segmented whiplash then a soft beetle thorax...

Hah yes - googled it and found it as an object to be screenshotted next to as part of some guild's scavenger hunt(!). That explains why it looks slightly low on polygon count. As a shape of pet, though, it would look pretty good.
(I always thought the cockroach you get as a minipet would be a good major pet if they produced a big one, especially if they kept that whirling flight movement - it even has an attack animation).
