I got him! I joined the site just to share. A very big thank you to Kyonarai and to Zeilla8 for the video and instructions. It took me about 5-6 tries, because I kept placing the traps too close or too far, but only took us about 5 minutes. The person that was helping me was very helpful and patient. I gave him/her 200g for their services. I named him Darkmatter for the science geek in me.

Being the weirdo I am .................. I'm beginning to get this fear that if people keep doing this it's going to get nerfed by Blizz.

I agreed zed, tho i think by nerfing it they will let us keep the ones we have and change the ones in the wild. easy fix would just remove that quest, nobody can do it again but we keep the pet. I dont think they will take it away from us at htis point since its only 1-3 people on an entire server will have him

To be honest I hope they do nerf this =3 this is my first unique pet, I was on a wowbreak when the standing worg came out, I was in a diff country
and far from any computer when the ooze, hydra, spirit croc came out, and I wasn't even around when the spirit wolf was tameable =/....
the only thing that scares me is the fact that many people have mentioned that their wolf go back to normal xD
That's why I'll be extra carefull with this guy and will only strut him around in major cities and raid with him

I posted it there for the fact that not everyone comes to petopia forum, i would love to see many hunters roaming around with this before it is nerfd which is inevitable!
But think about it... there will be no specific patch to nerf this. So why not spread the word while we still can?!
I really hope you didn't plan on keeping this info for petopians only right?

I think her impression was that you'd like for the Oil Wolf to be nerfed, aka grandfathered so that only a few people would have them and future hunters could not. For anyone that's ever longed for a pet that can no longer be tamed, it's a pretty horrible feeling and most people here would never want others to go through that. It seemed as though you wanted the Oil Wolf to become unique so that you'd have a special pet and other people couldn't get it in the future.

We don't try to hoard information on Petopia, we're very much about sharing. What we don't like is pets that become 'exclusive', we'd rather them stay available so no one has to go through he pain of missing out on a cool companion.

my intentions were good in posting it in Hunter Forums. which kind of upset me when she / he mentioned it like if i did it for blizz to notice it.. of course blizz is going to notice it whether the info stayed inside petopia or not, its always a matter of time. the fact that i posted in their forum doesnt mean that their going to rage patch it on us. eventually it may or may not be patched but this wont happen till blizz has a REAL reason to even let a patch go through to start with.

Well, it came across to me like Veph said much more clearly above. I'm glad that all you were trying to do was spread the love (which is good!) before a possible nerf. It just bothered me that you expressly said in no uncertain terms that you WANTED them to be nerfed.

if people want the information i beleive they have to seek it if its handed to them what will they have learned?
thats why after 50 million people asked me about my spirit beasts i started telling them to look it up and they always learn more about rare spawns and they thank me often
