..... OMG I hadn't considered that. I desparately want to see what that looks like. Even if it's ridiculous. :D
Unfortunately they don't line up right, so they look like abominations:

And best of all, at Kurasu's request, The Kurken skin on a turtle:

I admit I really like the red corekurken. :P It's like some sort of old god-esque monstrosity.

Loki over on this thread asked to see more swaps of giraffe/gazelle/stag/talbuk/horse skins.

Now I posted examples of all of them on horse models here. And I posted giraffe/gazelle swaps in this thread on page 2. So here's some examples of other swaps:

Stags. Other skins on stags seem to lose the mane, so instead you get a goitre, or some sort of neck lump like a bull might have. For some of them the neck also shows a seam where it joins the body, and the nobbly knees stand out on a couple:

Talbuks. The main problem with other skins on talbuks is that the neck beard doesn't look right. It's not textured to look as fluffy and natural as a talbuk's one. Other than that they aren't too horrible. Talbuks have a separate file for their horns, so that part never changes.

Giraffes and Gazelles. I'll group these together since they use an identical skin art style. The horn texture is wrong on a few, the stag skin gives the giraffe a terrible neck beard, the talbuk skin gives the forelegs an obvious join, but they don't look too bad. The horse ones seem to look particularly good, though stag musculature on the gazelle makes it look emaciated.

And if a giraffe ever decided to join the Burning Legion, here's how it'd look:

Update: added the kurken skin on a sea turtle to the kurken/core hound post above.

Thanks for posting the giraffe/talbuk/stag/gazelle skins :) The Burning Legion giraffe is epic, and some of the others are good enough to use in-game in my opinion (shadow talbuk, blue striped giraffe, etc).

Unfortunately they use an entirely different skin format.

If Blizz took this model of an Eagle, applied Wain's recolouring, and added the Lightning effect from Skoll to it, I would camp it until the end of Time. I can even see it having some kind of awesome name with a title <The Thunderbird>, and even being a more corporeal-like Spirit Beast. :o

There's a lot of nice combinations here. :)
I've tried doing this myself, but I can't get it to work properly. I did notice that the undead eagle skin fits the other birds you've tried.
It looks weird though. But I tried adding an owl skin to the undead eagle, and it still looked strange, but not as bad as the other way around.
Maybe you could give it a try? :)

I also noticed that the phoenix minipet skin fits the epic druid flight form. But I can't seem to get it to load the skin in WMV..

Heee, looks like someone threw some pink ribbons over that one in an attempt to make it prettier. xD

Yeah. I don't know where that comes from. Maybe the ear part, used in the druid flight form files.

It is the ear. Here is the skin file.

EDIT: And here is the undead eagle skin to see the bandage is at the ear part.

So, I've been trying this some more, and though I'm not nearly as good at it as Wain, I did manage to get some interesting results.
It seems like the ancient turtle skin fits the drakeadon and corehound skins too. Also the normal turtle skin fits them, but it doesn't look that good.

I have to say that the last one looks very nice. I'd love to have a pet like that. :P
