For all we know the Pandaren are actually that tiny anyway. Which would be AWESOME, goblin sized panda people, excellent!

I don't think it would be a problem. We have minipet Gnomes (the holiday ones, and the mecha-gnome), Orcs and Humans (Argent Gruntling/Squire), Goblin (the cupid one), even the Moonkin could sort of be considered player characters. The Wolvar and Oracles are sentient races as well.

I don't see us getting "new classes" unless its more of the "old classes on different races [i.e. Humand and Undead Hunters for Cata]" stuff. I just don't see the expansion pack containing all 3.
I'm not saying we can't dream though, cause heck, I'm dreaming too

Yeah that was me actually, and it was with the caveat that they only bump the level cap up to 90.
TBC: +10 levels, new zones, 2 new races
WOTLK: +10 levels, new zones, hero class
Cata: +5 levels, fewer new zones, 2 new races, most of Azeroth redone
So basically do a side by side with cata...
Cata: +5 levels, fewer new zones, 2 new races,
most of Azeroth redone
Mists: +5 levels, fewer new zones, 2 new races,
hero class
Ofc this is all completely hypothetical but at least in very general terms I think those last two could be switched without a major change in overall resource outlay.
Oh I'm not saying the resources wouldn't allow it. I just don't see it. I mean the side by side comparison makes sense resource wise, I'm just saying to me I don't see them doing the exact same thing 2x in a row in terms of the "new races or new class" thing. So I'm not saying anyone's wrong (or right),
What I think:
New expansion: +5 levels, fewer zones, Hero class, all the classic races receive a graphic overhaul.
Yes, I have my fingers crossed for a graphical overhaul pretty hard. But that's just something along the lines of what I imagine will happen with Panderia if it is the next expansion.
But you too could be right and we get both =) We're both just speculating/dreaming after all XD
Oh and I'm sorry Worba, I was pretty sure it WAS you who said it, but I wasn't 100% positive XD So I don't mean that rudely either.

they would be better off fixing up issues with the current races. Worgen really weren't received as good as they could have been because they weren't handled properly. Absurd female model, and a boring atrocious story. retcon the retcon, it was infinitely more interesting before.
older races need updated models 100%. I can understand why they seem more reluctant to do this though, I mean, the slightest of slight changes will no doubt cause uproar and hatred from many players, you know how fickle they can be. we're talking about a drastic change to the characters people have bonded with, not everyone will view as for the better.
honestly though i can't see them bringing in another hero race yet, or a playable race. but ultimately it depends on whatever story plot they run with, for now we don't know, it could be anything. hell even though it looks like it could be, there isn't anything concrete to say this will be an expansion or not.

What's funny about the Worgen though, is while their female counterparts seem really wonky, the males are INCREDIBLY popular (at least in my experience). Worgen are probably the most popular race on my server, second to maybe humans (though I mean Alliance side). I thought Gilneas story was cool, but I would've liked it better had they stuck more to the original lore for the worgen instead of the weird retcon they did.
But man. Worgen is like a true epidemic on my server XD Goblins on the other hand? very very very rare it seems.

Yes they did do well on the male worgen, but they have issues that I personally can't stand, but that's a bit off topic

Well, assuming Mists of Pandaria is indeed the next xpac, then we know that whatever happens, the pandaren will appear in some form, and they will be pretty central to the new content...

Pride's at it again with three guest stars who, too, are lore fanatics and discuss the possible paths that the Pandaren and the
Mists of Pandaria expansion. I hope that they remain a neutral race, to be honest.

You know what else would rock? (Stepping out of the Pandaren discussion for a second)
Maybe we're doing some more stuff with the Infinite Flight. After all, they strongly hint Nozdormu is ill in 4.2, what if we're finally getting to the long speculated Infinite Dragonflight chain? Perhaps we can even go back in time, to when Pandaren were more outspoken allies to both Alliance and Horde and have some dungeons based on that (like say do the Rexxar fight in Caverns of Time area (much like the whole CUlling of Stratholme in Wrath in CoT))...

If this actually ends up NOT being an expansion or whatever but just some other little thing, I could imagine Blizzard doing a /facepalm at this thread right now

Well, assuming Mists of Pandaria is indeed the next xpac, then we know that whatever happens, the pandaren will appear in some form, and they will be pretty central to the new content...
They could also be an extinct race left known only by their archaeological finds (we DO have an unused category in there!) and any architecture left in their area.
I also agree that this is all FAAAAR too much speculation before blizzcon and/or an official announcement. Yes, the patent makes it look like a game.. and yes.. for all we know they're only working on D3, WoW and their mystery "Titan"... But until there's evidence, I'm just gonna sit back and wait. Especially when it comes to speculating over what specifics will be added, including exact races an all that. This thread is turning into a bit like one of those chats with a bunch of nerds sitting around a table going all "oh! oh! And then you know what would be cool!" Which isn't bad... just not something I really think we should be putting forward as semi faq (face it... some lurker is going to read this thread.. skim it.. and then next thing you know in a few weeks there's going to be posts of "Pandaran: New playable race" elsewhere... hah). We all may realize this is speculation.. but the extent it's being discussed is getting a bit... heated for the fact that for all we know.. this is some little mini game the staff worked on during their breaks (unlikely, but still!)

No offense but... huh? I... don't see this topic being heated at all? O_o
No one's taking this thread "too far" and there's nothing wrong with speculation and/or dreaming of what could be. This forum does it all the time for future pet families, future pet skins, etc. etc. So it's not something new XD This whole thread was started on the fact of being just speculation, so as long as everyone's nice to each other (which from my POV they are) there's nothing wrong that I can see.
Besides, If someone actually reads the board and takes it all as 100% fact, then that's their fault. XD None of the posters have said "I'm 100% right".
And it's pretty obvious this is some sort of game. Reading the trademark "contents" on the paper tells you what forms of media it covers. "Game discs, game instruction manuals". Yeah, it's pretty obvious it is a game. But even if "Mists of Panderia" isn't the expansion title, it's almost certain Blizzard is working on the next expansion already. By the time we got Cataclysm launched they were already getting started on the next expansion I'm sure (a lot of those Behind the Scenes dvds for WotLK and Cata suggest their team who is dedicated to that part of the expansion development begin work SUPER early).

^ This. No one is getting unstrung and I'm not sure who the "nerds" reference was aimed at... because as Rikaku mentioned nothing is happening here that doesn't happen at Petopia every day.
Nothing wrong with speculation - peeps who don't feel like speculating can feel free to not read this thread.

I can't wait to see a Infinite Dragonflight raid who the final boss will be.... Nozdormu
The big twist.... is that Nozdormu will actually aide you in defeating Nozdormu. He knows exactly when he will die because his past self had to travel into the future to kill himself after he became corrupted, due to knowing that he would have to kill himself to stop him. Something like that
Oh to dream...

That....that is WoWception right there. That would slay me if they did that somewhere down the line of the story. Perfect.
