Thanks Veph. Now for sure he can see this without having to dig for it.

Time to go tame one...

i tamed a raptor and tallstrider yesterday, very neat. but like most of my other pets, its more of a novelty and just sits in the stable.

I have flame patches on my 82 and low level Hordie. (The latter was spur of the moment when I was helping my friends.)
However, we also learned we also timed it so we got rageraptors and ragestriders. I named my BE's tallstriders both Moltres, that way, when I lose flamey Moltres, I can keep pink (Or maybe ragey, who knows?) Moltres and say he molted.

Any of the Petopians willing to do this so I can tame one???
I have spots on Rexiah and another huntress that can do this. I will keep it as a looky loo pet only.

This argument AGAIN? For Pete's sake.
Veph, I love your fire's name! :3 Princess Mononoke is by far my favorite, but Howl's Moving Castle is my next favorite.

I actually had a warlock a long time ago whose felsteed I named Calcifer.

I am hoping they do with this pet what they did with the worgen pet before they took it away. If you had one you remember that they were made dormant so to speak, they would use no abilities and would not attack. You could still take it out and walk around with it, but it was useless outside of that. But after a patch (not a hot fix) they just took it away because of the worgen playable race. I really want to keep my flame, I really don't care if it doesn't fight, and having a Huntress walk by in a full set of Flamewaker, while riding a Flameward Hippogryph with a Searing Scorchling and what looks like a pool of fire following them around all while sporting "the Flamebreaker" title sounds pretty epic don't you think? (RPing with all that is going to be beyond epic btw

) Anyways I want to keep my little flame even if it doesn't fight.

Not to be the cynic but I sincerely doubt we're going to keep the fire. It's...well, no one seems to have pointed this out - I guess you all forgot in the excitement - but fire isn't a beast. And hunters tame beasts.
All of the other trick tame pets so far have been, for the most part, varying critters - save for the worgen, who was taken away. Even shale spiders have enough of a shape to vaguely resemble living beasts, even if they look more like enchanted stone. If it were a raptor or tallstrider on fire, I could see it staying much like the boar, but here we have an inanimate patch of fire, which is nothing more than a chemical reaction and not really something a beast master or survivalist could 'tame'. I don't deny that it's cool, and if I had the time or inclination I'd love to strut around with one, but I figured I'd point that out now, lest we get too terribly attached.

*nods to Nub* The only other possible exception would be the slime pets, which at least seem sentient in some capacity.

Oh that would be excellent if they did that! It'd be awesome if I got to keep my fire patch! This has my vote!
Well, obviously, I wouldn't complain if I got to keep it as-is, but I don't think that is the likely outcome... But it
is cool to have a fire patch rushing off to kill critters!

Slime-o-dile does not look like a beast, slimes are not labeled as anything actually, but they still let us keep them and who says fire can't be smart

.

Yup, I have every expectation that these will not stay long, so I'm just having some silly fun with Calcifer until they're removed.

And now I have the image of this guy running into attack lowbies then someone spamming them "DON'T STAND IN THE FIRE YOU NOOB!"

*nodnod* Slimes to appear to be sentient - or at the very least, alive - that's something fire is most definitely not.
I'm not saying we absolutely won't get to keep the fire - that's up to Noah and co. to decide, and we might actually get to keep it. I'm just advising against latching onto it like we did with hydras, until the entire forum turns into one big ball of 'plz let us keep fire' 'is fire tameable yet?' 'fire: exotic or non-exotic, rare or common?' 'CHANGE OTHER FIRE, KEEP THIS ONE UNIQUE' etc. etc.
Or maybe I'm just letting my nightmares out on the Internet. ;P

*plays with matches* Wut?
If you say fire isn't alive, go watch a forest fire sometime. Seriously scary stuff. It feels like it almost knows what it's doing and wants to burn.

It's combustion. Doesn't make it any less scary, but it is not, for all intents and purposes, alive. I can't explain the paths wildfires choose or why they burn certain things(I'd have to guess that it's burning everything, but some things burn quicker than others for whatever reasons, but I'm not an expert on fires), but they're not alive in the sense that we consider cats and wolves and boars and, yes, to some extent, slimes and shale spiders. The only way I could explain 'life' in a fire on Azeroth is as an elemental, which we know is more of a shaman thing - before the shale spider argument rears up, though, if that were the case I'm just going to say that in the end it's all up to Blizzard, not us.

LOL, oh god, that's hilarious.
No, I do not want to keep this fire, cute as he is. If for some bizarre reason we kept them he wouldn't take up one of my stable spaces for long, he's just a novelty, lol.

I'm sure I did miss the point, I can hardly think clearly to begin with tonight. I know she didn't outright say they're alive. The fact of the matter is that fire is an element and that's(98% of the time) out of our jurisdiction anyway. :P
Edit: Prettied up for snippiness. Sorry, it's past my bedtime.
