Mozag has just inspired me to choose the first character to level in MoP. It will be a hunter! Thank you my love!

I guess it *is* time for me to plan ahead, since things are all set up! So let's see....

Which leaves five spaces that I'm undecided on.

As a side note here...

I did some testing, and for MM the Hyena buff looks like it's a bit better than the wolf, but they are very close. Cats are down a few pegs. For BM, they are close enough that it doesn't make a difference.

I just updated my stable for MoP... and it's almost exactly the same as my stable now! The only difference is I switched my wolf for a water strider and added a crane! I guess I'm unimpressed with most of the new MoP pets... but maybe more will come out before September.

Image

I even organized the grid so that I know which pets will be first to go... the bottom row are my exotics, so they'll stay. And the top row I can never ever part with, ever in a million years, for various reasons. So those pets in the middle... their days may be numbered, if some cooler options come along.

Couldn't resist the hissy-click black basilisk! May still end up getting the Uldaman green one; must do side-by-side comparisons.

Hmm... it's time to start thinking about it seriously.

Image

What's missing? nearly all my spirit beasts, a bunch of the trick effects, and some others that I just don't ever use. The rest of what survives from my current stable or what comes as new will depend on how the BM/MM balance works out, and which one I spend most of my time in.

The biggest change? a wolf and the Hyena, since the Hyena is likely going to be on-par with the wolf for MM in Panderia.

Augh, I'm really struggling with this! I find it so hard to let pets go. :(

Excuse the daft names though, my character (a mind-addled, overweight trollish fisherman) tends to name them himself during roleplay. The ones with more "normal" names are generally named by other characters!

Image

I won't even consider abandoning my top three; they're my pixel babies! I could possibly abandon the ones circled (especially the unnamed!), but... I genuinely like their models! Though they, sadly don't get an awful lot of use.

I could abandon everything that's not circled gold, but I'd likely find myself missing a few pets- even if I'm not too bonded with them! However, my "want" list is a bit harsh for stable space-...

Want:

I wish I could keep all of them and tame the new ones! I have absolutely no idea how I survived on three slots before.

I'm doomed.

Update since it looks like pet abilities are finalized now.

Stable clean up, stable clean up~ All the other tallstriders are gone. I love them but with Hahadori I never use the others.

Still have no clue what water strider I will have but I need one for that water walk!

Probably will only keep one cat but I cannot decide until later on which has the stronger bond. Might go try out some other pets to see if I bond with anything since I have more room now. Maybe a wasp or bat...

While Ptay has the larger stable now. Plus I'm thinking of trying out a few other beasts that might fit her theme well.

Zaltana might morph into a few other colors since I'm not set on which goat skin would work best, but her name is fixed now.[/color]

I'd say I'm more "stable dedicated". :P
Sure, I love hunters, but the reason I have so many is because I simply cannot fit all the pets I want on a few hunters. :D

OK, it's probably going to be something like this:

Image

Magli's schtick is that all her companions (pets, mounts, and vanity pets) are white or mechanical. (It started completely by accident when I noticed the majority of her tames and mounts were white, so I decided to run with it.) Unfortunately, there are some abilities (Kings, the stamina buff, and the casting speed debuff) that aren't carried by any pets with white skins...those pets are relegated to the bottom row and will only come out when absolutely needed. :)

I think I have to find better names for 99% of my pets before they properly "click" with me. So far, I've really only done it with two pets, Dante aka Karoma, and Amadeus aka Ban'thalos. I need to find a good one for Loque'nahak, Terrorpene, and a handful of others that are staying for sure, though I'm pretty sure all my spirit beasts will be staying. As for what I want to tame in MoP, a stone/gem quilen, a goat (color undecided), maybe a basilisk, maybe Savage, maybe a crane, maybe a riding raptor. As I type this, I'm thinking maybe I'll try out Wendigo as a name for Arcturis.

This is getting difficult again! Thanks to that meddlesome hyena I'm now one slot shorter. ._.

I'm torn between the two types of water striders. I love them both, but they're so vastly different from each other it's hard to compare and contrast. They'll sit at the bottom for now until I figure out where I can fit one of them to start.

Sadly I think I'm going to pass on the purple Outland basilisk. I'm running out of space again, and since I already have my purple croc, I can probably live without it.

The amethyst quilen is looking to be my choice in that department, unless the unadorned cobalt really impresses me if/when it's added.

Agh, decisions!

The casting speed debuff is now carried by foxes and goats, so you can go with your white fox which you have or a white goat instead of the sporebat.

Ah, I had missed that change. Thanks, Wassa! I'll probably drop the sporebat for Stompy, then, if I can track him dow.

Edit: does this mean there are no hunter pets that bring the attack speed debuff anymore?

Wonderful to hear we'll get 25 slots! Here's what I've got so far.

Image

Edit: I seem to have forgotten my Humar. And seeing my stables like that makes me think that apparently I like cats.
