I hope the crystal phases you (your group) and Alani out when you use it. Nothing worse than putting all that work into getting the item just to use it, make Alani vulnerable and then some pesky, lazy person comes swooping in to tag her. Either that or the itemitself tags her for yourself/group when you use it.

That would by far be more frustrating and nerd rage inducing than any pet gank/loot ninja/dead TLPD/de-spawning Aeonaxx you've had in the past.

I would hope the crystal tags her. Geez I do hope so.

Indeed, I hope an autotagging feature is implemented with the crystal.

It would be really neat if using it on her ported you somewhere with her like with the Camel Statue. Then again, not quite like that...it would be more like finding Dorums and teleporting with him when you poked him. :c Maybe not such a good idea after all...but still, letting the crystal tag her for you, or a phasing, would be excellent.

I can already imagine the race for the sky shards! Who'll be the first lucky person to get their crystal ready and is able to tag Alani first? Oohhh damn you university! If I didn't start *one day* before MoP comes out, I might've been able to join the epic race. It would've been glorious. D: What with staying in my own accommodation and whatnot, I'll be kept busy probably. -.-

From that video, on his MMO-Champion forum page, he DID mention that it did about 20% damage to Alani (which i would assume would tag her... i hope)

Whats the pet the orc hunter has in the vid??? looks like the new spectral model of the tiger spirit. When he dismissed it it even has a cool cloudy effect. Did i miss a post on the new beast of is it just a beta bug tame?

It's a Monk spell, where they summon it as a guardian/minion for a short while.

I haven't gotten any skyshards since I first posted here. The droprate must be extremely low. =/

I've been farming mobs outside of doing dailies in the Vale to see whether or not you NEED to be on a daily quest for them to drop but I've had no luck so far. It would be kind of silly for them to only have a chance of dropping while you're on a quest, though, so I doubt that's how it is. I just got lucky that one time and now I won't ever see one again, ha.

So I'm farming for sky shards and Alani pops up and I notice something - She is a Beast, not Dragonkin. I try and Beast lore her but can't. It got me thinking. What if Alani is tameable by hunters? Our first Dragon pet? She can't be Beast Lored b/c of her stormshroud buff, possibly. But, as a hunter, one you use a crystal on her she becomes tameable *~*! I am trying to farm shards in hopes of testing this theory, but since the shard drop rate is low it may take some time. It would be like Jadefang in Deepholm - Kill it to get the mini pet, or tame it to have a unique pet. In Alani's case, have an amazingly rare hunter pet, or kill her to get a unique mount.

A bunch of dragonkin seem to have been flagged as beasts this build (good catch, Wain!). I wonder if it's intended.

Someone on my blog said that he got a skyshard out of a dailies reward bag. Others get them during dailies and while killing lvl 90 mobs, both for daily quests and elites (like the hozen in the VEB).

And no, you don't want a dragon beside you, you want it between your legs!
