<3 Majime - it's been fun watching him grow, though understandably frustrating. xD

Three last tames for the night. I've been going tame-crazy.

Image

Blue was the Portent color I wanted the most, so of course I never expected to find him. But lo and behold, not an hour after I hit 90, my rare-hunting friend told me she'd find Portent for me. She did, in seconds, and he was blue. I love him just as much as I thought I would- he's absolutely gorgeous.

Image

Red was the Portent color I just did not like. At all. I thought it was overall very dull and boring, and I didn't understand how everyone loved him so much. Then previously mentioned rare-hunting friend showed me her tamed Red. Oh. Those back stripes. They *glow*. Suddenly, Red portent was a must-have. Which is annoying, seeing as I don't like having more than one of each family. Either way, I only got him after unsuccessfully looking for Patrannache (thank the gods I didn't find him, because I would have tamed him and probably abandoned him. And there was a hunter at one spawn spot, prepared to wait all night to get him.). Hopped over to the Vale and he was right where he'd been tamed in his blue coloration. (He also helped me successfully track down the evil Patrannache and help said dedicated hunter tame him. <3)

Image

I'll be honest, I only looked for this guy for the fun of tracking him. Basilisks are not my favorite, and bright pink? No thank you. But as soon as I tamed him, he clung. For now, at least, this guy is sticking around.

Morga hit Pandaria and went to tame some things.... Please excuse the crappy levelling gear choices :D
This is Jadis, green crane from Honeydew village. She's always complaining, making noise and a very difficult crane. I like her together with Morga, but I'm not sure if he can stand her forever.
Image

Arod my Durotar tiger finally go a mate after 6 years of Wow. Meet Meara. She's a pretty cat and because I couldn't exchange Arod for one of the new tiger models (I mean we did EVERYTHING together in the last years) I decided he would get a ladycat.
Image

This guy is Charly. I had already tamed him before Pandaria came out, but now I have him in my active stables because of all the water that needs crossing while levelling.
Meh, petopia broke my image of Charly, I'll add one after work....

So I discovered via a post last night that the Rankbite Ancient tortoises in Townlong Steppes tame up to be very small. I knew that the Seadragons in Krasarang Wilds did as well, and had tamed one, but didn't like it. I thought I preferred the ones that stayed huge. But I tried a Rankbite out anyways, and it turns out I think he's adorable. He's about the size of the spur thigh tortoises you can feed at our local drive through safari, and so he immediately reminded me of them.

But as a bonus, at least for me, he makes grunting and snorting noises! It was so very late when I tamed him, I thought I was hearing things!

I have named him Grumble.

Got my blue Portent on a whim! I thought he was going to be tough to find, but other than walking fast he was easy! I guess not many of the hunters on my server are chasing down the rares.

Oh yes. Madexx decided he would appear for me in every color but the one I wanted (green), and I ended up falling in love with him (black).

I've only got about three weeks left on my "contract" thing with WoW. Maybe I'll give some of these critters a spin, but I suspect I will remain much more interested in GW2. :P

Omigosh, you guys. I'm so happy. I caught Patrannache after a very frustrating chase. I've been tracking all the rares for the fun of it, but this guy was so hard to find, I swore I would make him a permanent addition to my stable. Why are his feet so small?! Such little bitty footie prints that were so hard to keep track of! I'm tempted to call him Littlefoot!

He doesn't really match Kalhoun, but I have this hurr durr thing about pink. I'm not a very feminine girl, but my brain seems to turn off about pink things. "I want it because it's pink!" I have no idea.

Image

I also caught Stompy today, and he's a keeper. I love that he makes noise when you click on him.

Image

Tonight has been a taming extravaganza. I'll put the rest in links so I don't feel like I'm forcing you to stare at my screenshots. XD

I caught Glimmer, using the flare camping technique where he crosses the river. I could see that he was headed to the end of his route, and would pat back soon. It didn't take very long.

Glimmer didn't seem to click, so I tamed a common mob water strider. I like him better.

And a cute, colorful worm. Why haven't worms always looked like this?

The last rare I will probably look for is Bristlespine (maybe Portent). I tracked Bristlespine a bit tonight, but his prints completely disappeared. I think he's phased for me.

Edit: Ffffff... it won't let me name him Littlefoot? I call shenanigans.

@ Kalhoun, Ahahaha, the "I want it because it's pink" is something I share as well. My as-of-yet-unnamed bright pink basilisk was only tamed because he's so incredibly pink and silly, and now he's climbed the ranks to become one of my very favorite pets. And anyway, Pat looks fabulous next to Kal. Your hunter is completely decked out in neutral, earthy colors and Pat doesn't have even a hint of "earthy" on his entire body. xD (Somehow the fact that Pat's legs are darker makes him look really good with Kal too, don't ask me why. >.>)

I approve of your choice of Water Strider, too. /biased /sorry

@Schlager, my server is the same way. I've seen only four or so hunters with rares, and I've only once had competition while looking for a rare. Plus, all the hunters I've seen looking have been really quite nice and eloquent. It's like the new tracking system has brought out a different crop of hunters on Staghelm. xD

Deja's tames are finally done!

Image

Shisa's finally home, and in an odd twist of fate, decided that he wanted to be in blue Portent's skin rather than as a bronze quilen. I was a bar away from 90 when it was announced in guild chat that Portent was up in blue, so I went as fast as I could to level. Cae helped me find where I needed to go since I haven't fully unlocked the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, and I was excited when the dusty tracks came into view. My first flare brought him out, but I jumped the gun and forgot to mark him before trying to tame, and he walked right on by me and had to be flared out by Cae, and after I remembered to mark him, the tame went off without a hitch.

I've become quite attached to Shisa in this form. :)

He doenst belong to the pandarian areas but i just tamed him recently so i guess he could be put into this subject - unless someone object :)

Meet Floyd  - He has pinkish colorations so the named Floyd just matched. He has such a huge personality and quickly became one of my top 5 favorites :D

Heehee, Teenytoes! Lilfoot might work. I haven't tried Littlefeet yet.

So far I haven't seen another hunter tracking any of the pets I have been, and haven't seen anyone standing around in cities with a rare on my server. I'm sure there are hunters that have them, there's got to be, but they must be rare.

Edit: It let me name him Littlefoot today. Must have been something weird going on last night.

I'm somewhat of a girly girl and I like pink and wear it occasionally. But in game I tend to choose black and dark colors more often for transmog. I fell for the pink cranes that were all over the place on Beta but a flamboyant pink crane didn't seem to match my toon well so I chose a black one. The black cranes are stunning but my heart belonged to Patrannache before I even knew about him. I adore him and am so happy even though he may not perfectly match my toon. I don't even care. :)

Oh so I guess I should post here. I've procrastinated long enough haha.

But yeah! All of Mia's pets from beta made it over to live, so really I've introduced all of these guys before, but this time it's more proper! :D

Well let's just start off with the obvious:
PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIING!!
My fun-loving, boat-riding, hat-wearing crane! He's totally bumped his way up to me second favorite pet spot. He's just so fun to have around and is such a quirky little bird. <3

Image
I stole his hat here. He looks much better with it than I do, though.

Image

And boy howdy, I would have NEVER guessed that a TURTLE would rank so high in my favorite pet list, but Juran the dragon turtle has managed to do just that! I knew this was the skin/model I'd want since first seeing it, but oh my gosh, when I discovered he made little growls and grumbles when idle that just sealed the deal for me. I love the vocalizations so much, they just give him so much more personality. <3 He's a bit smaller than all the other turtles, but perhaps he'll grow in a later patch. ^^
He's named after my first ever original character, a green dragon named Juran. I was very uneasy about naming him that at first, but I think it made the bond with him even stronger. It's as though my favorite and dearest OC has his own little place in my favorite game. <3

Image

Image

Ruslan the tiger has proven to be quite responsive to his surroundings! He's a great buddy to do things with because he'll almost always emote properly. One time I lost a roll on a trinket I needed and he did some type of sad emote (don't remember off the top of my head). And just recently a random player petted him and he emoted back with a purr. He's just such a sweetie and I just love him so much. <3

Image

Image

Then there's my goat, Kafa. He's just so funny and happy-go-lucky and sort of in your face about all of his feelings. XD Goat pets are just so incredibly fun, I look back to when they were announced as tameable and shake my head at the annoyance I felt toward hearing that news. They grey on me incredibly fast!

Image

Aaaand Bumi, the crazy, playful, super excited quilen who is also a lover of noodles. :P And other food in general really but c'mon, noodles. I often picture Bumi rolling over on his back, enjoying life to the fullest. And he might be a mad genius. Who knows. ;)

Image

Image

Then there's Geri. His name comes from the irl water strider Family, Gerridae. Geri's a happy little bug, and although I haven't had much of a chance to use him as much as I'd like to, he's a warm welcome into my stable. :D

When I first saw the Portent colors, I wasn't all that excited about the blue one. The normal blue stone wasn't available either. When I saw they made the blue stone available I said I'd tame that one instead... but then when I actually got to 90 I told myself if I found a blue Portent it was "meant to be".

After rehoming the first Portent, a red one, I continued to scout his pathing for tracks randomly the rest of the day. Unfortunately, he made no second appearance that night and I logged out at the far west end point. I logged in today and began to back track. I found some dark soil and cleared the mobs to grab it, then continued up the hill for a bit and found tracks! Hey, that's going the direction I just .. came from. Followed them all the way back to where I had just been, and a fresh track appeared. Well, server must be laggy.. oh yes, it very much was. Flared, marked him, released my purple stone I had as a temp and threw a trap. Portent waltzed slowly on through the trap and kept going, never triggering the trap. Huh? So I just hit Tame and figured he'd walk back into it. Nope! He kept walking the whole tame. I thought for sure it wouldn't work, but low and behold the tame finished and I had him.

I must admit I am liking the skin much more than I had originally. I didn't care for the copper color at all and thought a nice silver would have been better. He's.. growing on me. I like that the mane sticks out, that's something I think that lacks on the dark stone quilin. It just doesn't stand out as much, even the natural stone quilin looks better than the blue/purple in that sense.

Anywho, pictures.

I've no idea what to name him yet. It took a bit of playing with Savage til I finally decided on his name. Then I had to decide on the spelling, but ended with Baeyel.
