To be fair, this is the first time in a long time that I felt so inspired to spend so much time levelling in the coliseum, so that's completely understandable Gorman

Day 55
Failed recruits: 9
There was a commotion early one morning as the crone twins dashed up to Piccante. "Leader dearest, there is trouble in the swamp!" Cried Aleksey.
"The very silt beneath the waters stir." Nadya continued. "We sense both benevolence and malevolence."
No sooner had the words left the Skydancers' mouths did the surface of the marsh heave. The three were at the bank in an instant, the rest of the Pack gathering gradually behind. "What about your wards?" Piccante asked urgently. "Didn't you set up something to keep monsters out?"
"Not monsters."
What? Before more could be said the surface of the water lurched and broke, revealing a very bizarre-looking creature that resembled an Aether, only its fur rippled like thick mud and a long, red protrusion sprouted from the back if its head. "Hi!" it chirped, in a very happy tone. "You guys need to leave! I'll help!"
Clydri joins!

---
17. Ambushed! Monster hunters have somehow located the pack's location! Flip a coin. If heads, most of them manage to escape; exalt one random dragon. If tails, three random dragons fall during the escape and must be exalted.
After a very strangely understandable conversation from the swamp dragon it was revealed that, all this time, Aethers who had adapted to living in such environments lived here, using their sludgy skin to blend in and their head protrusions to catch food from the surface. They had become agitated by the recent activity and were preparing to drive the lycans out - by force if necessary. And they were coming as they spoke.
Piccante thanked the Aether, named Clydri, for the warning and ordered the Pack to gather up all their belongings and move out, now, now, now! In a flurry all the dens were cleared of important supplies and everyone began to form a group at the edge of the den site. Unfortunately Alita and Marshal had become curious about this place and had gone out to explore. A cry carried over the waters followed by furious splashing as Marshal was seen tugging on a blue paw sinking into the swamp, surrounded by red tentacles similar to Clydri's.
Clydri flew out, diving into the murk to negotiate while the rest of the pack rushed out either as a distraction or to help pull Alita free. A struggle ensued, but eventually the Guardian was pulled free and everyone fled back to shore. Marshal and the crones hung back as Alita coughed up a concerning amount of muddy water, having come very close to drowning. As the waters swelled again, they set out as soon as she was able to walk.
Welp, time to find another new home.
Alita loses her extra life!
