They definitely are! I didn't really have any desire to tame one after they were found, but in beta I went to test one out for the heck of it and was surprised by how much personality and charm they have. Now I'm going to have to get one in Cataclysm. I love their idle animations.

I just wanted to confirm that I wasn't misreading the instance description about it being a raid - like yourself I prefer doing everything solo, so I was hoping I wouldn't have to get someone to group and disconnect to form a raid.

Would it be possible for the daring red beetle tamer to jump down, summon a spirit beast for the heal, dismiss beastie, summon corehound, cast puppy lust, dismiss/abandon puppy, then tame uber-fast? (Maybe just the corehound part...)

That's an impressive piece of work I looked at the map and decided they looked like they were too far in to reach without a raid group and raid gear, so I didn't bother looking
