The shale worms. I was so hoping I'd be able to tame those, their models are just beautiful.

Basilisks are alright, I'd tame one given the chance.

Dragon whelps. They don't seem to have any sentience, and even if they did, as I recall the Netherdrake you get for free after hitting exalted with Netherwing is also sentient, and decides to partner up with you; can't Blizzard just take that approach? Make it a class quest or something, to learn how to befriend a dragon as your ally.

Also, sort of off topic, but a new bear model, as opposed to a skin, would be nice, I'm not really a fan of any of them except maybe the polar bear. Also also, damnit blizzard, I want the lava turtle concept art. That, other than the worgen, was the pinnacle of my excitement for Cataclysm.

I REALLY want the Arcane serpents from outside nexus to be beast and tamable! I've want one ever since i layed eyes on it oh so long ago.

I have a feeling they didn't have time to create a new model for those Volcanoth turtles, so Nemesis/Terrorpene is what we got instead.

Yea, I was really disappointed, to be honest. I was hoping for a larger elemental/lost world theme with new pets, going by the concept art for some of the beasts. Shale spiders and terrorpene are nice, but I dunno, I feel it could have been a lot more, especially considering the shale worms are already there.

Yeah, I would have loved to see all those concept beasts come to life, but I think they just started running out of time and had to put resources into more pressing areas of the game.

I agree. There seem to be multiple areas of the expansion that seem unfinished, such as the worgen experience, or fishing, which was supposed to be "more exciting". Treasure chests also come to mind.

Wait, Is Volcanoth on Lost isles this skin now, (The terrorpene one)? If so, is it tamable as a lvl 10 Goblin?

Well there is also the rule of thumb that concept art RARELY ends up exactly like it is in game. Model cut and editting is far cheaper and less time consuming than creating a brand new one. That and concept art is just that, a concept to bounce things into later, not the absolute finished product.

Some of the critters in TBCs art was way way cooler than in game...

Anywho enough of sidetrack, I want my own stomp stomp damnit.

Again: Basilisks, pterrordax, hydras. More warp stalkers. And it'd be straight-up awesome if they shifted void terrors over to the beast category.

That said? This alone was a step in the right direction.

I'm kind of bugged by the fact that we have but a single new exotic pet family in Cataclysm at the moment.

It would be a dream come true if they just decided to make hydras tamable. They tease me with their attractive variety of colors.
