Wow, this thread is... ancient.

The first time I did it, I attempted to abandon the pet after he failed to, well, die during the tame. I dc'd at some point, and the server likely processed both the tame & the abandon at the same time. That's how I came up with the "abandon macro" tame method, which has since been fixed by Blizzard. The current method being used by posters is a modified tame/res-on-death method, which I haven't tried myself.

Hope this clears things up.

I was amused enough finding year-old posts by people informing me that my method had "already been found out" (lol, you were a year late, Fangz) but I'm more amused to find out that players have found ways to keep the creative tames going :D

Since I saw uncle, indeed, thought that no one had thought of doing it from the "hill"

PD2: So acheronita, you die while the wolf, you still keep the BUFF?

I don't know what you're asking me, Bahamas; rephrase perhaps?

If either you or the pet die while the pet is out, the buff is lost, not sure which part you're asking about!

@Acherontia

Well the PetAbandon Macro wasn't working for me, so I tried another method, better known as the Tame-On Death Method.. however, I changed it up a little bit. Instead of using Revive Pet I used a macro

#showtooltip Revive Pet
/cast [nochanneling] Revive Pet

This is what the macro does:

Once you hit tame beast, as soon as it is over and if you hit it a few milliseconds off, it will still cast Revive Pet after Tame Beast is finished. There for making it even more accurate than the PetAbandon Macro method. And..

IT WORKS! It works with the Ghostpaw Runners! After attempting it for WEEKS with the tame-on death unedited version and the petabandon macro, after only three attempts of using the Edited Tame-On Death Method I got him! Here is what I did

I got naked (:P)
I got a Druid from the guild (Bear)
And he had no experience with this at all: So after three attempts (The first one was my bad was showing him how to do it but wasnt spamming the macro and second was trial and error XD) the wolf howled as he disappeared (He looked like a white wolf) so I logged out because it said I had no pet, at the login screen a white wolf was there, logged in, summoned him and voila! I hope this helps everybody! :D

Yeah, the petabandon macro got fixed awhile back, the modified revive is new. Back when the petabandon macro worked it wasn't unreliable at all, unless the person had really wacky latency, lol :P

You should make a new post about that method, though, because this one is very old, semi-unrelated (completely different, broken method) and still getting bumped. It should actually probably be locked but meh >.<
